Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

What does an optometrist do?

Functionality: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services. Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

If I could give them 10 stars I would. My 4 year old started wearing glasses this year. He had gotten his first pair at Target and with no prior experience with having glasses we were convinced to buy glasses that simply didn’t fit him. After a few months of them falling off we went to Walmart for another opinion. Alicja was absolutely amazing! She was knowledgeable and her experience was evident. She helped us find a pair that fit his tiny face perfectly. He loves them and he no longer needs a strap to keep them in place. They are perfect. I will absolutely be back to Walmart for his next pair.

I purchased eyeglasses today here for the first time. I was helped by a very professional and pleasant woman named Cheryl. She took the time to help me, from answering my questions, informing me of new technology to reduce eye strain, helping find the right glasses for me. It was refreshing to deal with someone who truly wanted to help and was pleasant too. Qualities hard to find these days. Thank you for a good experience.

Horrendous customer service! Unfriendly, screws up appointments, told me that I would be bringing in my glasses to get replacement lenses "at my own risk", whatever that means. I cant stand dealing with these miserable people. Going to find a new optometrist in my network. Hope they get shut down.

Hossible customer service! I went in to my apt a couple minutes early so as to get my toddler situated. I had just bought her a toy at Walmart to keep her busy. It had the theme song to frozen and wasn’t loud and she was happy and content. One for he associates walked by and said, “wow that’s going to get annoying for the next hours.” I’m sorry what???? I handed her back her clipboard and said I’m good. She looked at me confused and I said your rude and I’m leaving. Not even five minutes later the owner calls me. I assumed she was calling to apologize...nope I was wrong... she barated me about missing my appointment. I informed her I didn’t miss my appointment and told her what happened. She said,” oh yeah she told me she wasn’t rude to you so..” I informed her that she was rude and proceeded to tell her how their customer service skills were less to be desired. Now this is the “owner” said, “Are you done now? Because your harassing me.” What planet does this lady live on? I called the management office at Walmart and they informed me someone else had complained just minutes prior about having an issue with their professionalism. So this must be their norm. I’m so beyond disgusted.

The girls in the vision center are wonderful & accommodating. I had to go back at least 3 times for adjustments on my glasses, because I kept messing them up and they were great about it every time.
