Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

What does an optometrist do?

Functionality: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services. Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

Dr. Madgar is knowledgeable, personable, and patient. He's a great doctor which is why I came to his practice. His front desk staff however are not. During check-in for my last visit, one of the receptionists corrected me on how to say my last name and kept repeating it wrong, telling me it was Spanish. I told her how to say it properly saying it was Italian and she turned to the other staff member saying "See, I told you it was Italian" like it was funny.... I found it extremely rude. Today I called to pay over the phone for that visit and the receptionist who answered repeated my entire credit card info out loud. If you've been to this practice, the waiting chairs are right next to the desk. This is really unsafe, especially where anyone could be listening. Unfortunately, I won't be coming back here as much as I like Dr. Madgar.

Went there like 3 months ago for my three-year-old daughter to get glasses, they called and told me her glasses are ready when I have time to go update which was three days later they will close sign saying that it was a covid exposure and they will be open with in a couple weeks, it's been 2 months now and I've been calling and calling and calling no answer what type of business is this and y'all have my daughter glasses. Her eyeglasses were paid for and all through her father's insurance through his job like how do y'all even call yourself a business this is terrible terrible terrible terrible terrible and the eye doctor is rude

Dr. Madgar is your classic eye doctor, which isn't easy to find anymore. I've been wearing lenses for 20 years and he was able to correct my vision in a way that others had never been able to.

My children and I had a appointment all at the same time. The Woman doctor there was so comforting! At first is was like she was talking my head off but she REALLY new her craft to the point I was so eager to learn! It took a while but I felt like I knew what to expect, what I should know, and to treat my eyes like I never knew before. When we leave an appointment with a new doctor my children and I always talk about the experience. My son said the same about her talking but she made him feel really comfortable. Kind of like a sec mom that could help him with his eyes! My daughter relaxed with her shades on with no complaints! Which is not normal! She felt confident that the doctor knew what was best for her vision! All and all we are definitely going back. If anyone can help my children and put it so they WILL LISTEN?!?! Gets five stars for me!

I went here for the first time a week ago. Dr Madgar was great! Super friendly and personable. His staff was also incredibly friendly. I got my contacts the week after I saw him and my glasses too. That’s incredibly fast compared to the places I’ve been before. I really liked it here and I would highly recommend this office
