Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

What does an optometrist do?

Functionality: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services. Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

Maria is the best optician anywhere. She has an extraordinary (and very rare) blend of deep knowledge of the details of eye glass technology and a right-on sense of style. I haven't bought glasses anywhere else for probably close to 30 years, nor would I.

BEST EYEWEAR BOUTIQUE EVER! Moda Optic and its owner Maria are hands down the best in the business. I refuse to go anywhere else for glasses and sunglasses. Maria has provided me, my family and friends (not to mention the entire DMV) with amazing service and her unmatched expert style advice to go along with the worlds top selection of brands and trends. Her greatest attribute is her ability to provide perfect frame choices - it is uncanny yet Maria makes it seem so simple. When I arrive, Maria has waiting for me a selection of frames that she has carefully picked out based on my likes and style, as well as my facial features and past purchases. She nails it every time. I recommend Moda Optic to everyone. Thanks Maria for being in class.

Loved the experience here. So much better than a place that shall go unnamed on the other side of Pike and Rose. Staff was incredibly friendly, highly trained, and made fabulous recommendations based on both my previous purchase history as well as frames that would fit my face well. Ordering couldn't be easier. The place is well laid out, the lighting is fantastic, and overall it was just a pleasant and efficient experience. Highly recommended.

Today I went back again to have Christian made the bridge and enhance the look of my frame by welding some piece to fit my preference. Christian again delivered exceptional service. He cares of what he is doing and the way he welds the frame he polish it pretty well, you can't even tell it is just like a manufacturer made. His price is very reasonable comparing to the others. Christian is the eyeglasses guy, very handy and very fast. He asked me to wait for 30 minutes but less than 20 minutes it was done. His work is exceptional. Even for modifying the frame to suit your preference he is a top notch. He did somehing extra to fix my warping frame even without asking. I would go back to his service again if something needs to be done.

These guys are fantastic, friendly and efficient, a family business that delivers on their promise. I've used them twice so far. First time for a smaller repair, the second time for a repair that I thought impossible. In the latter situation, I rolled over onto my glasses and snapped the arm clean off, it literally pulled out of the plastic of the frame and left a big gaping hole. (see attached pics). They fixed it for me within 20 minutes and my glasses look brand new. I am very happy with Quick Fix Eyeglass Repair and would unequivocally recommend them.
