Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

What does an optometrist do?

Functionality: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services. Include: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services.

Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

Dr. Fisher with fisher vision clinic has a great harmonizing feel as soon as you walk through their front door. The staff is informed, bright and willing to work with you. Dr. Fisher‘s years of experience and his excellent doctor patient communication is one of the many reasons why I will continue to keep him as my Eye Health provider. Leslie Pierce

The Righteous “Majestyofnarnia”  |  Rating: 3  |  Eyewear Express

The female eye doctor here rushes you during the exam which ultimately turns out in glasses with an inaccurate prescription. She was so impatient for the price you have to pay for your lenses. Her assistants were way more helpful. As were the ladies on the other side. Because of her alone I wouldn’t recommend it.

Gerald Chrisope  |  Rating: 5  |  La Combe Eye Center

I have been treated for glaucoma and eye disorders related to a traumatic head injury by several specialists in Denver, Colorado and Lake Charles, La. and for decades by a renown medical institution in Houston, Texas. The excellent care provided by Dr. Sara Armand and the support staff at Lacombe Eye Center matches or exceeds my experiences with some of those institutions.

Sue Thibodeaux  |  Rating: 5  |  Maison Optique Vision Center

I am a new patient of Dr. Boudreaux and have nothing but admiration that he was able to diagnosis in a short period of time a problem I have been having for a while. After seeing 2 other doctors with continued issues, it was comforting to know I found someone that could help me. He answered and explained my numerous questions and validated that the issues I was having were indeed present. I loved the fact that there was not a long waiting period before I saw the doctor. This said to me that he respected my time as well as his. I highly recommend Dr. Boudreaux and his staff to anyone. Great Job!

Megan Welch  |  Rating: 5  |  Stanton Optical

This evening had a horrible experience with visionworks left there because I'm not ever doing business with them again. Was heading home and saw Stanton Optical shinning bright from the sun setting on it. I Googled their number and the guy said we can get you in today we have 3 appointments back to back. I said great we will take them. First we were greeted by Ms. Ayanna she was very nice and helped me right away. Then we were greeted by the store manager Ms. Kia, she was professional and polite and took us to the back right away. Ms. Kia helped us from the time we got to the back until we checked out. Our first experience was wonderful we will surely be back because these two wonderful ladies had amazing customer service and because of that i highly recommended Stanton Optical.
