Contact lenses are small lenses that are in "contact" with your eyes. They are designed to correct refractive errors and keep your eyes healthy. The lenses are in the tear film on the cornea. Modern contact lenses are small lenses worn over the cornea of the eye. Modern contact lenses whether soft or hard. Most people wear soft contact lenses, but it wasn't that long ago that lenses were made of glass. Colored contact lenses can make your eyes more intense or completely change the color of your eyes, and costume contact lenses can help create special effects seen on the big screen.
What is the difference between glasses and contact lenses?
Unlike glasses, contact lenses do not limit the field of vision. With glasses, the field of vision is limited, causing people to have to turn their head to see something from the side.
Can I sleep in contact lenses?
Modern soft contact lenses allow enough oxygen to the eye, but when you sleep, your eyes are closed and, therefore, the access of oxygen to them is reduced.
What are the harms of contact lenses?
Prolonged contact lens wear causes the cornea to thin (keratocytes lose their ability to synthesize new tissue). This can happen even with proper lens wear 3-5 years after use. In the case of reaction to hypoxia (lack of oxygen), the main complication is the formation of new blood vessels.

Lisa Joyce Huber | Rating: 5 | Falls City Eye Care
Several years ago, I developed strabismus. I am a middle aged lady with a history of nearsightedness but did not have lazy eye as a kid and have never had a head injury, which are two of the things that can cause adult strabismus. My previous eye doctor dismissed my complaints of double vision and I switched to Falls City Eye Care. There are so many great things about this practice (location, beautiful building, awesome public art in the yard, fantastic selection of frames) but the number one best thing about Falls City Eye Care is that they CARE. Dr. Martorana took the time to figure out what was causing my double vision and sent me to a specialist to get it diagnosed. All of Dr. Martorana‘s staff are wonderful too, patient, friendly & knowledgeable. It hasn’t been easy for health care providers these past two years with the pandemic and I am glad Falls City Eye Care has weathered the storm. I can’t recommend them highly enough!
Dennise Thomas, Lmt | Rating: 5 | Target Optical
I have been seing Dr. Johnson for almost 3 years. I love how personable and friendly she is. Unfortunately the ladies at the optical are not always the nicest, but this time they were very nice and helpful. Natasha assisted me with my choice and check out. She is very knowledgeable. I hope the stay because Dr. Johnson deserves a great team!
Misty Bock | Rating: 5 | Vision First: Joseph Hammond, OD
Dr. Hammond is fantastic! He's thorough and caring. Jaclyn Meek, the optician/manager, spent so much time helping me pick out the best frames for me. She was honest, patient and pleasant to work with. Love, love, loved her customer attention.
