Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

I had an excellent experience getting a new eye glasses prescription as well as my first contact lens wearing/prescription. I saw both Drs. Bacher and Rademaker. Dr. Rademaker saw me multiple times to make sure the contact lenses were fitting appropriately and kept adjusting things until the Rx/fit was just right. A comment below said the office is "dingy"-- it's not brand new and it's not decorated like an Instagram post. It is perfectly clean and adequate for what you need. The staff were all wearing masks appropriately and Dr. Rademaker made sure all equipment was appropriately cleaned between each patient. I highly recommended Rademaker Eye Care for your vision needs.

Dr. Rademaker and the rest of the staff are all friendly, warm, and inviting. They are very kind, even when the doctors are running a little behind and everything is chaotic. The exams are very thorough and they really listen to their patients. I would most definitely recommend them to any soldier or their dependents in the Ft. Campbell area. I've been seeing an eye doctor for over 20 years and this is, by far, my favorite clinic.

The Doctor was very personable and knowledgeable. I really enjoyed my visit. She made me feel relaxed and took time to explain things to me. The office also was very kind and didn’t mind me coming in early for my appointment. I will definitely go back.

Dr Rademaker and his staff are very kind and helpful. The last eye doctor I went to gave me contacts that just did not fit my eye sight. Dr Rademaker took the time to get my prescription correct and even doubled checked it. He got me the right balance of clear sight in the distance and the ability to read up close. I could not be happier with the care I received!

Very unpleasant experience. Dr. Rademaker is a rude person who will make offhand comments like "God" when you just are answering his questions in the eye exam to read the letters. Pouts, sighs. Acts like you're stupid and is very condescending for no reason. Wanted me to look directly into his light when it made me uncomfortble and he was like do you want me to look at your eye or not? Just look at the light, god. Jeez. Will not come again.
