Why do eyeglasses cost so much?
Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.
What should you do before buying glasses?
Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.
What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?
The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.
How do I know which glasses fit my face?
It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.
Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?
With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

Dr. Saul and his staff have provided excellent care for my family for over 20 years. The proper time is always taken at reception and during the appointment to ensure I’m comfortable and well taken care of. If you are looking for a local eye doctor, this is the place.

Just came back to Dr. Saul and had a great visit! He is so kind. More importantly, he is very thorough and listens to your questions. His demeanor makes for a comfortable visit. And his staff is just as welcoming and nice making the whole experience terrific.
Georgann Haeffner | Rating: 5 | James M. Saul, OD
Dr Saul was so kind and patient with me. (I’m kinda freaky about my eyes, esp the glaucoma test ) he met with me briefly when I went in to see about getting an appointment. The exam went great and he used the best, gentlest puff of air glaucoma test I’ve ever had.
Laura Dodmead | Rating: 1 | Walmart Vision & Glasses
The Walmart in Villa Park doesn't seem to have many appointments available because the Dr is never in and doesn't have a set schedule to be able to make an appointment. And when we finally did get an appointment, it snowed a little bit they called and cancelled. Will never try that Walmart optical again. Good thing Addison Walmart likes to do business no run around like Villa Park and they are cheaper taxes!
Jim Melka | Rating: 5 | James M. Saul, OD
Dr. Saul has been my eye doctor for more than 20 years. The staff there is Great, and always work with my insurance to get me the best value. It's so nice to have the personal touch that Dr. Saul's office brings. I really like all the new frames that are there every time I need to change my style. I moved to Rockford 10 years ago, but I still go back to Villa Park and Dr. Saul for all my eyeglass needs. I would not think of going anywhere else. Jim Melka
