Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

What does an optometrist do?

Functionality: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services. Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

I just went in to see if my sunglasses could be repaired and for how much, even though I didn't purchase there. Not only did JoAnn fix them on the spot, she did it at no charge! I'm delighted with this place and will be back for my next pair, especially when I found out they accept my insurance.

Extremely helpful and friendly staff. I had a great experience coming here for the first time and will definitely be returning to this location for all my future optical needs. High recommend this place!

This was me and my mom’s first visit to Visionworks and it was a very pleasant experience. We were not pressured to buy anything, but we were thoroughly helped and our questions were answered appropriately. We were approached by Michael, a very polite sales person. He was very helpful, knowledgeable, and patient with us. Your store is so lucky to have an employee that loves his job. There was a feeling of trust we felt instantly. Michael showed us various choices the store can offer. We ended up buying 3 pairs of glasses. Thanks Michael! We will for sure come back next time when we need another pair.

Follow-up Review February 17, 2022 I must note that I appreciate the management team taking immediate action after reading my review. Although no one called us when the glasses were ready, we called the store and went to pick them up once arrived at the correct location. At this time, we had the opportunity of speaking with the district & regional managers in person, who happened to be onsite that day. I was happy to hear they are looking into the root cause(s) of the various incidents we encountered and expressed their commitment to resolve the problems identified. I do hope they look deep into their processes, and not stop at personnel. In situations that we encountered, it is usually the process that is the problem. If not clearly communicated and understood by the associates, one cannot expect things to go smoothly. We may think about giving them six to eight months before considering a return to the store for another family member to get services. This should provide sufficient time for the team to look at the weaknesses in the system, develop corrective actions, provide training, and evaluate for effectiveness, so that no other customer will have to experience what we did. Zero Rating! We will NEVER return to the Eye Boutique. The optometrist was fine; however, the rest of the experience was totally unacceptable! From the exorbitant contact lens "fitting fee", which I have never heard of all the many years of wearing contacts, to the loss of the glasses picked out, to the poor customer service. It is amazing this company stays in business. We received a text that our glasses arrived and went to the store location we originally did business, and discovered the glasses were shipped to another location. Instead of accepting the error, they tried to blame the customer. There is nothing anywhere on the order form to state desire for glasses shipped elsewhere. I hope the corporate execs read this, because they are not taking accountability for the lack of standardized processes throughout the organization, for the lack of customer service training, for the representatives blaming the customer for their mistakes, and for not reviewing complaints and seeking out the root cause and corrective plan of action to prevent recurrences. Apologies are unacceptable. It does not matter the location, the Eye Boutique name is on all locations. I plan to post this review on every social media I can find. Truly disappointed!

Harry was very professional, helpful, and eager to solve my problems during my visits. We've purchased two sets of frames and lenses here and the one for my wife was perfect. But mine has some issues with the optics and the frame, due to newly developed symptoms and my choice of frame. Harry offered me several generous solutions and worked with me back and forth to make sure everything worked toward my satisfaction. Even the glasses didn't work right out of the box for me, but Harry's service, sincerity, professionalism, and the attitude to make things right topped everything. I'm very satisfied in the end and glad that I found this great place where I will be back for my future glasses.
