Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

What does an optometrist do?

Functionality: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services. Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

I appreciated Dr. Yu taking the time and patiently describe to me the condition of my eyes and the effects of contacts with the new technology. He's the best eye doctor I've seen in a very long time and I've been wearing glasses/contacts for many years over 45 years! Go to him, you won't be disappointed.

First, they did not look at my old prescription so she did not know how much my vision had changed. She was just greedy and wanted to sell new glasses and not truly discuss with my the amount of change in my vision. Then the first pair of glasses gave me horrible headaches. Headaches that didn’t even go away after taking them off. So she tried to remake the glasses and they are still wrong the second time. The first pair took 4 days to make. They have a policy that says they only guarantee the prescription for 30 days. I find it very convenient that it took 3 1/2 weeks to make the second pair of glasses! Then when I told her the second pair was still wrong, she insisted that I wear them for a minimum of two weeks before I could tell her that they were still wrong. It took 3 1/2 weeks to make them, plus 2 weeks to wear them, that pushes them over the 30 days. How am I supposed to get her to warrantee the prescription? She is a horrible doctor! And she can’t get your prescription correct! In response to the owners comments, she only offered to try and make things right after my insurance company called her. And since this has all transpired I have gone to a different eye doctor and had a proper exam done. I have paid full price for another set of glasses and the other eye doctor got the prescription right the first time. The new glasses work the way they should. I would like to know how the second doctor got it right in less than 15 minutes and this doctor can’t get it right after two tries. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau regardless of what this doctor at Focus Vision says.

Such a great vibe! Everyone was very kind with a positive attitude both towards each other and the customers. I really appreciated how personable everyone was, from the staff to the doctor. I felt listened to with my current issues and I felt well taken care of. I even found some great frames that I’m excited about! 10/10 would recommend

My co-worker recommended me this place since I need a new prescription on my glasses. The place is very clean and the staff is very friendly and professional in what they do. The examination was done in a quick and professional manner. I was very impressed by the selection of frames they had. It is nearly impossible to not find a frame that you would like. The staff there will also help choose a frame for you based on the style that you prefer or what they would think fits the customer best. Overall, I found my experience to be very pleasant. My frame and lens were ready in a timely manner. Since they had my lens in stock I was able to get it the same day. I would imagine it would take more time if it weren't available, but I know it would be ready as soon as they have it available. The best treatment and experience I have had with any optometrist in my life. Will defiantly come back when I need to change my prescription again.
