Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

What does an optometrist do?

Functionality: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services. Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

Everyone at this location is professional, kind, and helpful. They seem like they like their jobs and helping people. We have been to eye doctors who were rude and snooty, but this target is the best. We moved to Roswell but still make the drive back because we love it so much.

I’ve been going to this target optical location for YEARS. Since COVID the customer service has been less than standard, which was understandable initially. Now, usually I have worked with Lupe but this newer staff person (older lady with a Spanish accent) is inept. She lacks customer service, deflects accountability and doesn’t apologize for their mistakes. 1. I called in late November/December of 2020 for an eye appointment and to get replacement glasses for my son as we had replacement insurance. The transaction was over the phone ... due to covid... I was told I’d get an email receipt but never did and this wasn’t the first time I didn’t get an emailed receipt from them so I didn’t pay it attention as I’d gotten the glasses. This time, however, she had the glasses will take 6 weeks bc of covid so I’m waiting. In the meantime I show up for my appointment for my contacts and the new lady denies me and says I’m outside of my appointment window and the old Dr isn’t there so I’ll need to pay for a new visit... This was outrageous! I wasn’t outside my window but if I waited I would be waiting on the Dr. Why would you set an appointment up with the wrong Dr then deny me an office visit when I show up like it’s my fault? That lady never apologized nor offered to set up the right appointment... she instead asked me who Id talked to? Who set up my appointments? Shouldn’t they know that information in their system? Clearly she saw my name on the appointment list. I can’t miraculously do it myself! Instead of arguing, I left and decided I will take my business elsewhere. 2. I arrive after the 6 weeks to get my sons glasses. Lo and behold, the same lady says there’s no glasses! Instead of apologizing, she asks me for the RECEIPT! Like I said before this place never emailed me one receipt since I’ve been a customer. She’s asking me for the date of the transaction.... again... she can clearly see on the patient account when the order would’ve been made under my sons name. Why is she making the customer do all of the leg work? Who the hell hired this lady?! She’s inept, argumentative and disrespectful. I left again because I will not argue with anyone I’m giving my money to. I’ll take my money somewhere else. And I’ve called this place to complain and NO ONE ANSWERS THE PHONE! They keep this up they won’t last through this pandemic!

I would give a 10 if I could! I will never buy glasses anywhere else! We were greeted at the beginning, allowed to browse and ask questions when we wanted to, and when we were ready for full attention from the optician (Guy was his name), we were treated as if we were purchasing a car. Caveat: I hate shopping, but glasses are an important choice, so it is something you have to do. He showed me and my wife different frames that I would have never considered … and they were better than what I had selected for myself! He FaceTimed the optician at another store, so we could see other options. He popped the dark lenses out of a pair of sunglasses, so I could see what they would look like as clear glasses, because he thought they would be a good style on me. He absolutely nailed it. I never write reviews, but for this experience, I had to. You are the man, Guy! Getting glasses? Go to Target on highway 9!

I usually dont write reviews no matter good or bad experience. But this time I felt like I have to. Exam itself was okay. I added contact lenses to my exam, and they told me they will call me in 7-10 days when the lenses are ready. But they never did. I called them myself and woman that "tried" to assist me was so rude. I felt like I was treated like a liar, thank God I saved copy of receipt, prescription, all the emails that I received when I scheduled the appointment. So I was able to provide all the information that she asked.

I was referred to Dr. Patel by my ophthalmologist and my experience was phenomenal. Very clean, organized, not overbooked or long wait time to be seen. Bedside manner was pleasant and he provides attention to detail. I like to be given options which he did. Dr. Patel spoke to me and not at me. Highly recommend! Can’t wait to bring the rest of my family here
