Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Why do eyeglasses cost so much?
Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.
What should you do before buying glasses?
Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.
What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?
The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.
How do I know which glasses fit my face?
It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.
Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?
With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

I went to the Gray Hwy location last Saturday...The ladies there were very helpful.. Especially DeeDee who took the time to help me find the exact frames I needed....she was very patient with me trying all types of sizes and styles of frames....I was told they would have my glasses within 3 days..That they were the fastest in Macon...I called them Thursday and was like are my glasses ready no one has even called. They were suppose to call me back and let me know something. No calls so I had my husband call 3 hrs ago. We were still waiting on a call back... So I just called them again...I asked about my glasses. The lady told me they would be ready Monday...I asked why it is taking so long. She told me the glasses were made at the Bloomfield office...That they told her they didn't receive the order via fax when it was sent...Seems to me if you already had a patient calling several times. it would have been followed up within their internal offices. To give the customer who had already paid in full better service than this.... So keep in mind they are not the fastest in town...if you need your glasses quickly check other places first... And which office actually dropped the ball on sending or receiving my order...And not even one phone call from them all week...

I had an appointment scheduled for 1:00 pm, I’m here at 12:30, there’s one patient ahead of me and we’re both waiting for the doctor to come back to the office. Dr. Crews eventually calls the gentleman back for his exam, I’m patiently waiting, they come out about 15 minutes later, Dr. Crews then calls the patient who came about 30 minutes after I did. I brought this to the receptionists attention, and she casually tells me, “I don’t know why he does what he does sometimes!” Boy, I tell you this is an unprofessional group here.

I went to Visionworks Shoppes at River Crossing about 3 months I received one of the Best eye-exams I have ever had, the staff there was very attentive to my needs. I had about a 10 minute wait, that I used to look through some frames and found the perfect pair. The optometrist is very nice and professional. The exam took about 20 minutes and I was done. In fact I was so impressed that just Wenesday I took a very good friend and my next door neighbor over to get their eyes checked also. Whom also said they would be going back there also.. So Good work Visionworks
