Contact lenses are small lenses that are in "contact" with your eyes. They are designed to correct refractive errors and keep your eyes healthy. The lenses are in the tear film on the cornea. Modern contact lenses are small lenses worn over the cornea of the eye. Modern contact lenses whether soft or hard. Most people wear soft contact lenses, but it wasn't that long ago that lenses were made of glass. Colored contact lenses can make your eyes more intense or completely change the color of your eyes, and costume contact lenses can help create special effects seen on the big screen.

What is the difference between glasses and contact lenses?

Unlike glasses, contact lenses do not limit the field of vision. With glasses, the field of vision is limited, causing people to have to turn their head to see something from the side.

Can I sleep in contact lenses?

Modern soft contact lenses allow enough oxygen to the eye, but when you sleep, your eyes are closed and, therefore, the access of oxygen to them is reduced.

What are the harms of contact lenses?

Prolonged contact lens wear causes the cornea to thin (keratocytes lose their ability to synthesize new tissue). This can happen even with proper lens wear 3-5 years after use. In the case of reaction to hypoxia (lack of oxygen), the main complication is the formation of new blood vessels.

The attention to detail is impressive. I felt welcomed and Dr. Locke was incredibly thorough. The staff is extremely kind. Don’t look any further for your new eye care provider — this office is a perfect fit for kids and adults!

They are far too busy to provide adequate eye care. Very frustrating, time consuming process to get glasses, just to have to start again elsewhere. I booked my appointment in September, which involved a month wait, which was rescheduled by them, and so I didn’t have my eye exam til late October. The exam itself was thorough. When I ordered frames in December was when the real breakdown in service happened. I paid for my frames in mid December, and by mid January had no word of when they’d arrive. After 6 unreturned phone calls and frustrating back and forth I learned that my frames were indefinitely on back order, so I changed my frames and again no confirmation of ETA. It took losing my temper to finally receive attention. They did give me a 50% refund for the hassle, but when I received my glasses, they are unusable. They are blurry in all parts of the lens except the very center. Which means I need to turn my head to focus anywhere except straight ahead. I’ve decided to start the process again with another doctor because I don’t have the time or energy for the back and forth to resolve this with them. Save yourself time and go somewhere else.

The receptionist, don’t know her name, but she had bad weave and a big forehead and her customer service was awful. I had an appointment for 1:30pm and due to unforeseen circumstances I arrived at 1:35pm, at 1:37pm she greeted me. Without looking up from her computer, she asked what time my appointment was and after I told her, she said that they would have to reschedule me since “we don’t have a grace period”. I arrived a mere 5 minutes over my appointment time and I have never heard of such a policy on America’s Best’s website or at any other eye doctor’s office. The least that she could’ve done was look at me while addressing me, or at least pretend to see if there was a way to accommodate me. I was on my last pair of contacts, so that appointment was very vital for me, but luckily I was able to schedule a same day appointment with another establishment. I won’t be using America’s Best anymore, and this particular store on Howell Mill, has ghetto service. Goodluck if you use them.
