Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

Dr was good. Make sure you are at least 5 minutes early or else they will reschedule you. Service is great! Jennifer was awesome, helped with rescheduling, new contacts and she even hooked it up with some CANDY! Sour patch kids for the win!

I went in May for an exam for contacts and glasses. I told the optician as well as the optometrist that I rarely wear contacts- once a week at most. They suggested I consider daily wear instead of the extended wear- which I wore in the past. They provided me with 2 different brands of trial lenses when I picked them up (a total of 10 pairs). I knew I needed to return for a follow-up, and when I called to schedule it, they told me too much time had passed, and I would need a new exam and would have to 'start over'. At no point did anyone tell me I would need to be back within a specified time frame. If this were the case, I would have certainly scheduled my appointment within their parameters. Can not recommend- and I will be scheduling a contact lens exam at a facility that understands how to communicate with their patients and knows how to provide exceptional service. EDITED POST AB RESPONSE: Your corporate office is equally as short-sighted when it comes to customer service. I shared my complaint with them via the website, and they are standing by your decision. I will not be returning, as I prefer to spend my hard-earned money with companies who appreciate their patients- not those who chisel them. This could have been easily avoided if one of two things happened- 1. You clearly explained the timeframe in which I was required to return. 2. You could have sent a reminder as the end date was approaching. Neither happened- and you're penalizing me- the patient- for the error.

Extremely disappointed with how everything turned out. Patricia originally helped me and my son put three weeks ago and she was amazing. She went above and beyond to repair my sons current glasses, even staying 30 minutes past closing for us. The part where it went wrong is ordering contacts. We needed some more contacts for my son for sports, he wears a helmet and doesn’t like how his glasses fit within the helmet. I expressed my concern of getting them as soon as possible and was told two weeks tops and for faster delivery, they will have them sent to the house. Well we are three weeks out and I called to check in to find out that the contacts are on back order and they don’t know when they will get them. Things happen but that lack of respect for customers is nuts! They took close to $300 for contacts and ghosted me. I could have order them from somewhere else or even ordered sports glasses or a prescription visor for my sons helmet but of course no one calls to let us know. Worse off, I asked for a refund to order them somewhere else and I’m hung up on three times, smh, the manager is supposed to call me back before they close but of course he won’t, I will either have to call or just show up right before they close, smdh, how did we go from Patricia three weeks ago to this? DO NOT ORDER CONTACTS FROM HERE IF YOU REALLY WANT THEM! If you just want to let someone hold money while you wait though, definitely come here, they will surely take your money and ghost you, how is a corporate type of eye glasses out here scamming folks gets me, but hey, they GOT me!
