Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?
Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.
What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?
What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

Why do eyeglasses cost so much?
Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.
What should you do before buying glasses?
Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.
What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?
The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.
How do I know which glasses fit my face?
It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.
Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?
With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

I rarely leave reviews but this place absolutely needs one! From setting up an appointment to each individual I work with during my visit including the front desk, the technician in the back and the doctor herself was knowledgeable and cleared up some miss understandings about my vision that I learned were inaccurate from previous in NJ.. But everyone there was ABSOLUTELY Amazing and Kind.. the selections where the best. I have never not even LensCrafters was I able to have so many different pairs to choose from.. they do everything on site and we're Just Amazing from beginning to end... I loved how through and accurate

I came in today for an eye exam and new pairs, and the customer service and hospitality shown at this location were excellent very caring and wonderful staff would definitely be coming back here for anything.
CasswW | Rating: 5 | Pawlak Eye Care - Dr. Clayton Pawlak (Located inside Visionworks Pompano Beach)
Dr. Pawlak was willing to spend the time to listen to my issues and provide an explanation of why I might have those issues. He offered me 2 prescriptions since I have issues with my progressive lenses and it can't seem to fully correct my sight since one eye is hyperopic and other myopic. Another issue is I'm often on the computer and my job require a lot of reading. Unfortunately I really need 2 pairs of glasses since currently there isn't one can correct my current issues. He was very forth coming and truthful about the limitations of progressives. We even spoke about surgery. I will definitely see him for my next annual checkup. I filled one of his prescription and it does help with my eye fatigue. Updated 03-Nov-2022 Returned for my annual eye exam today and he still takes the time to address my issues and concerns. We again spoke about things that may help as my vision worsen due to aging. He gains nothing from me having surgery. It’s just an option I may have to prepare for when we do reach that point when no corrective lenses will help. Pleasant and informative as my first visit. Will definitely see him for my next exam.
Leah Melegari | Rating: 5 | Pawlak Eye Care - Dr. Clayton Pawlak (Located inside Visionworks Pompano Beach)
To be honest, when I showed up, I had to wait a while. Then I realized when I was taken back to the exam room, I was waiting a while because Dr. Pawlawk is throrough and takes his time with his patients. While I waited I had the two nicest people who worked with VisionWorks helping me find frames and though I was the last person in the store, I never felt rushed. I look forward to using Visonworks and Dr.Pawlawk for years to come. It's been a long time since I went to the Doctor and felt heard. Thank you guys so much! P.S. your guy at the front desk is amazing :)

Dr. Shorrock is attentive and caring. She knows her stuff and listens when you speak. As does everyone else in the office; now that all the grumpy staff that used to be there were replaced with happy people that like to help as of late 2020 into 2021. Great & needed change! You're taking care of my eyes. And now it's nice to work with the rest of your office to help me get glasses that work for me. Thank you doc!
