Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

What does an optometrist do?

Functionality: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services. Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

My husband and I are Lighthouse Point residents and we prefer supporting local businesses. Based on our customer experience at this store, we will never return. Aside from reading some negative reviews and not being totally happy with their selection of eyeglasses, we still decided to give them our business. Long story short, we ended up with a store credit from a prior transaction and I decided to purchase a pair of Gucci sunglasses. Along with the store credit, I had to pay an extra $329 for the glasses. When I got home, I went on the Gucci site and saw the same Gucci glasses that I paid over $600 at Eye Site Vision Center were $375. I was shocked! I can understand a markup from the online price but 160%, REALLY? They refused to work with me and claimed that they didn’t have a return policy. Folks, do your homework, double check on businesses you deal with and make sure that they are not out to rob you! Dr. Gary Goberville, I am truly disappointed.

I always feel that Dr. Wigdor gives me the very best eye care possible. At almost 75 years old my visual acuity is enviably excellent. His staff is a tribute to the overall excellence of the operation as well.

I have been going to Coral Springs about 10 years and I never had problem. Their location in Lighthouse Point is worst place that ever used. My glasses will take 3 weeks to be ready and to get a response from the staff is a LABOR. I will tell you do not use their services. After I get my glasses I will never even walk by the street that they are. Horrible services all the way..

Please don't waste your time going here. Everything is so over priced. I paid $398 for glasses on Monday 3/1/22. I was almost the last customer for this day. I call the next morning before they opened I left a voicemail to cancel my order. Later that day i called to confirm the they got my message to cancel. The yound lady said yes and the Dr. was infirmed. Ok on 3/2/22 I called and spoke with Dr. Goberville. He was rude and said to me. If you can't afford it i can take something off the glare protection to make it more affordable. I told him no I want to cancel the order. He stated that he there's no refund on special orders. I cancelled less than 24hrs and he refuse to refund my $398. I'm so upset. I will never go back here again. I may have to take this to court in order to get my money. This is so very sad for a Doctor to be so money hungry

I have been a customer for a long time at Eye Site Vision Center, approximetly 8 years. Dr. Gooberville does't seem to care any more. He keeps chasing away the staff. At least this is what the staff has been telling me. Poor customer service from the Dr. His staff has been accommodating but they have said that most of his customers are NOT HAPPY, and are not returning, INCLUDING ME!
