Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?
Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

Why do eyeglasses cost so much?
Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.
What should you do before buying glasses?
Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.
What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?
The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.
How do I know which glasses fit my face?
It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.
Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?
With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

I needed a new optometrist for my yearly exam and thought I would try infinity since their location is close to my home. Infinity not only met my expectations, they far exceeded them! I was able to get in on the next day that I called. I was met by his lovely wife and friendly staff as soon as I walked in. I didn’t have to wait longer than five minutes before I was whisked right back for the exam. Dr. Smith was very friendly, personable, and professional. He knows his craft! I was sent home with two different types of contacts to try out. Who does that?! Anyway I couldn’t be happier! I wish all businesses could be run like this one. Try them out, you won’t be disappointed.

This review is about the Infinity Eye Care location at 13621 N. Florida Avenue in Tampa. So I need a new pair of glasses. I called a place on Fowler Avenue I went to six years ago to ask if they accept my new insurance and was put on hold. After thirty minutes of listening to their tacky hold music, I gave up. I then called another place, also on Fowler, and spent another twenty minutes on hold. Meh, I wasn’t busy that day and was feeling cranky. So I called a third place up on Dale Mabry and guess what. Same thing. I happened upon Infinity through a quick Google search and, rolling my eyes, I tried one more time. And a human picked up the phone. Like, she picked up on the first ring! I think my mouth fell open in surprise. Then, a week before my appointment, I had to cancel. I called to reschedule and guess what - they answered the phone on the first ring AGAIN. It was like going back in time to when customer service was still a thing. I was rescheduled with no problem. Dr Smith obviously cares about his patients' overall health, not just their eye health, and I actually learned some things during my visit. He also cares about customer service. I didn’t feel rushed at all. His staff are friendly, patient, professional, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend Infinity Eye Care, and have already told several other people about them.

I had an after hours emergency when a drop of a strong pool chemical went directly into my eye. Dr. Smith called me back almost immediately, had me send him a picture of my eye, and gave me instructions on what to do until I could be seen the next day. I was so scared that I had permanently damaged my eye and he helped put my mind at ease with his kindness and expert knowledge. You would not get this personal service with a commercial eye care company. Thank you Dr. Smith!

Myself and my 3 daughters (13, 10 and 7) recently saw Dr. Smith in the Land O Lakes office. Fantastic experience! Thank you! The exam was very thorough, Dr. Smith is extremely knowledgeable and made sure we understood the visit. He was great with my kids and helped us with a diagnosis for my little one that other optometrists missed. The front office ladies and eye glass technician are kind and professional. You can tell the all truly care about their patients.

I've worn eyeglasses for 45 years, bifocals for 35, and progressives for 25. In all this time I've never adjusted to a new pair of glasses in less than a week. Even if the change in the prescription was small, it still took time. Imagine my surprise in being perfectly comfortable with the new pair from Infinity Eye Care in less than a day. Dr Kevin Smith gave a very comprehensive exam, with very minimal discomfort. The process of ordering my new pair was seamless. They examined my old pair and automatically added the lens enhancements I prefer. The taking of measurements for the progression on the bifocals was completed easily and quickly. I found it to be quite accurate. It took no time at all finding that sweet spot where everything becomes clear when I'm reading. I'm an avid reader. I've known before if it was off. Incidentally on the job I have to clearly see waveforms on a computer. No issues there either. Thank You. I love them. My husband also switched to seeing Dr Kevin Smith. This is his 3rd or 4th pair of progressive bifocals. In the past he would flip his glasses off after some time reading, or at work looking at waveforms complaining that he sometimes saw better without them. I took it as impatience and refusal to try to make the adjustment. Little did I know. He's had his new pair of glasses for 2 months now, and I haven't seen them on top of his head once. He told me he didn't know wearing progressive bifocals could be so easy. It takes quality materials and an attention to details to meet the eye care needs of a community. Dr Smith and his team have definitely demonstrated to this family that they have what it takes to ensure the best outcomes for their people.
