Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

What does an optometrist do?

Functionality: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services. Include: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services.

Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

Was really excited about getting my new prescription glasses. I was somehow recommended this awful place. Even tho i didn’t receive the assistance/ guidance from the “experts” in there i was still happy with the goal of getting new glasses. That was all the way until i paid and was handed my cheap glasses and was told i could not have them redone. anyways you pay for what you get on a chain business. I Will go to a private doctor next time and get a quality service. 0 stars.

Unfortunately their customer service is poor they don’t call back voicemails no one answers the phone. Glasses were supposed to be ready in two weeks we are over a month with no definitive time frame. Office staff was cold and in empathetic and honestly unhelpful…go elsewhere

Besides making us wait for 45 minutes, the "Dr." was unprofessional and lacked patience to deal with my older adult mother (she is 88 yo). She had her eyes dilated so she was trying really hard to read the lines and I was translating (Spanish to English) so that seemed to upset him as well. He was rushing through the eye exam in an unprofessional manner, condescending and total lack of empathy. Not coming back here again.

Dr. Guario is an amazing doctor. I was able to work with him to get scleral lenses which have dramatically improved my vision. They have given me a new lease on life. I was anxious that I would not be able to insert the lenses into my eyes, but he never stopped believing in my abilities and patiently motivated me to keep trying. Now, I never leave the house in glasses. I am so thankful that he is my doctor and will always recommend him (and already have, several times over) THANK YOU!

Pros: Very thorough exam... that's it. Cons: Too many to list in this review. All I can say is Dr. Zeigler is one of the most pretentious doctors I've seen. He took quite a bit of time at my initial appointment for my exam. However, after that is when everything fell apart. I went in a second time to try on the trial contacts he ordered for me. Neither of them fit well, both prescription and comfort-wise. As I talked it through with him, I also know he had patients with appointments. I told him I would schedule an appointment and come back to discuss my questions/concerns so I wasn't taking up his other patients' time. Keep in mind, his assistant said I didn't need to schedule an appointment to come in for my trial contacts He told he I didn't need to schedule an appointment. He basically told me the questions I was asking were too complicated for him to explain and it would be easier if I just let him do his thing. No patient education, nothing. I was left with Option A (his suggestion, aka uncomfortable) or Option B (my initial prescription I came in with). No other options, no attempt to meet halfway, nothing. At the end of it all, he offered me a refund and said "there's nothing more I can do for you, here's a full refund, no hard feelings, but hey.... AT LEAST YOU LEARNED A LOT ABOUT YOUR EYES." Everything I "learned" was my own learning, which wasn't anything I didn't already know actually. Dr. Zeigler is pretentious and cocky, is not patient-centered, and does not want to consider anything other than his own opinion.
