Why do eyeglasses cost so much?
Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.
What should you do before buying glasses?
Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.
What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?
The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.
How do I know which glasses fit my face?
It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.
Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?
With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

Easy to find; plenty of parking; pleasant office; great staff; friendly, patient and thorough examination. What I thought would be a mundane chore, turned out to be a surprisingly enjoyable experience.

Christopher Moore | Rating: 5 | Dr Richard T D'Addio
I’ve been going to Dr D’Addio for almost 20 years. He and his staff are always kind and courteous. He explains different parts of the eye exam to let me know what he’s checking and why. I enjoy the quality of care and the selection of glasses. There are many options to choose from. He stayed open during the COVID-19 pandemic, when other doctors I knew of decided to retired. Great Doctor!

Awful receptionists and staff the receptionist on the phone was rude ,derogatory ,unproffesionnal and dismissive I had looked forward to going for my first visit Here I called the morning of my appointment to confirm the time as I had not heard from the dr.’s office prior and was told Without prior warning my appt was given to someone else no one ever left a voice message re: my appointment at any time prior to that day It is important to Actively Listen and hear your patients Concerns and respond effectively instead of reacting impulsively when a patient has concerns or questions I will refer my friends and family to someone else in the future
Robert Bavolacco | Rating: 5 | Lifetime Eyecare-Contact Lens
I recently visited Lifetime Eyecare, as I knew my vision was degrading rapidly. From the second I walked into their office in Shelton, I was impressed at the friendliness of the staff. I actually felt 'greeted' and valued as a new patient. Dr. Mingrone explained the details of my exam in a very simplistic, yet thorough manner so that I clearly understood what needed to be addressed. I even learned some new things about the eye, as well! When it came time to select my frames, the office was near closing, however, the staff actually ENJOYED spending over an hour with me to ensure I was happy with my selection, and that the lenses were configured the best way possible. Lifetime Eyecare is truly a Best-in-Class practice. They genuinely care about the satisfaction of their patients, as evidenced by their Mission Statement proudly displayed in their office. THANK YOU to Everyone at Lifetime Eyecare for treating me as if I was your only patient! Bob Bavolacco
