Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Why do eyeglasses cost so much?
Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.
What should you do before buying glasses?
Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.
What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?
The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.
How do I know which glasses fit my face?
It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.
Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?
With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

I have visited several doctors, since they diagnosed me with a strange condition that I did not know I had, I am an adult and I do not like going to doctors since I get scared with each version they gave me about the diagnosis and long-term treatment and/or the not so good conduct provide by the staff sometimes. Visiting this office today by just walking in from the front door to the secretaries and other staff and the doctor was just phenomenal! Every single time I got ask if I was ok if I feel right, and for me that’s very kind. I definitely felt super comfortable and saw a really good doctor very concerned about the health of her patient she was amazing explaining every little detail and making sure I understand it. I recommend this office 100%, you will never regret it!
Kit Conway | Rating: 5 | Dr. Craig L. Nielsen, Optometrist
I went to Dr. Nielsen for the first time today. I was exceptionally impressed by how thorough he was and how committed he was to helping me. The appointment was exactly on time and he spent over an hour examining my eyes and speaking with me. We made another appointment for two months to monitor my eyeS. I highly recommend him to anyone who wants a skilled caring and thorough eye doctor. I don’t write reviews like this very often and I have been to many doctors

Gorgeous Office. Very clean and inviting. I felt very comfortable. Pretesting was quick and efficient with state of the art equipment. The tech was friendly and attentive to my concerns. Dr Youseffi's exam was extremely thorough. She uncovered a clogged gland that was causing irritation in my eyes and explained clear instructions for treatment. Upon check out, the optical department was super helpful and friendly. Their frame selection was expansive and it was easy to find multiple styles I liked that were lightweight and reasonably priced. I am a returning patient and will continue to recommend Meriden Eye Care to others. Thank you.
