Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

What does an optometrist do?

Functionality: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services. Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

I am a new resident to the Windsor area and wanted to try and keep my money local by using local doctors.I would recommend staying away from spending my money with Alpine Vision. I made an appointment at Alpine Vision for my son and myself and it took 4 weeks for an appointment for me, but they were able to get my son in in about 2 weeks. I was asked to complete forms on line prior to my sons appointment. The forms asked for insurance information and social security numbers. I filled out the insurance information and left the social security number blank. I arrived with my son for his appointment with no problems, check in was easy, they were efficient, and polite. They asked for a copy of my license at check in, which was no problem. I then received a reminder call for my appointment and the staff left a voicemail. In the voicemail they asked for me to complete the forms prior to the appointment and indicated if forms were not completed prior to the appointment the appointment would be cancelled. I was a little taken a back thinking...."Can't I complete the forms at the appointment?", but I went ahead and completed the forms in advance. I provided all insurance information but left the social security number portion blank. Upon my arrival the staff took my license and made a copy but did not ask for my insurance card, which I thought was weird, because most offices take a copy of the card. Then I was told I had to provide my husband's social security number (he's the primary on the insurance) and when asked why, the staff indicated it was for billing purposes. I then shared with them, that my son was in two weeks ago, and the social security number was blank on his form, and his visit was billed with no problem. The staff then double checked my son's account and she verified there was no problem with the billing and it was billed without a social security number. The staff then went around the corner and asked someone if the social security number was required and that individual said yes. The staff then came back around the corner and indicated the social security number is required by all three location in the franchise for insurance billing purposes. I then pointed out that it was not needed to bill for my son's.....and she(staff) was dead quiet. She then asked if I wanted to call my husband for his social security number and I indicated it would not be provided and since it was a requirement, I guess the appoint needed to be canceled. She said okay and let me walk out of the facility. I have worked with a local dentist and general practitioner and neither one of them required a social security number to bill insurance, as a matter of fact, they indicated only an insurance card was needed. It's really sad when someone wants to spend money locally and the small business doesn't show an ounce of common sense, because obviously, the social security number was not needed to bill insurance since my sons was billed with no problem.

My husband and I went in for routine annual exams and were impressed by all personnel who were very pleasant and professional throughout the process. Since we suffer from too many birthdays (hence the need for bifocals), we had occasion to sit with Cicada to be fitted for glasses. She was able to make excellent suggestions based on the shape of our faces and how they would fit. We both accepted jobs at a facility that required safety glasses so we asked Cicada if she could help us with prescription safety eye wear. She had safety frames on hand and was able fit us both. I can't say enough about the exemplary care we received. I would recommend Alpine Vision Falcon as my go to!

Best Optometrist in Northern Colorado. I've worn glasses/contacts my entire life and have gone to many different vision centers, however Alpine Vision, Dr. Tyson, and his staff have made me a loyal customer to their office in Windsor! They all are so professional and caring. Samantha in the front office is fantastic with customers and listens very well. Dr. Tyson has experience beyond just an annual eye visit, his expertise has been beneficial for my long term vision health. Strongly recommend this office!
