Why do eyeglasses cost so much?
Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.
What should you do before buying glasses?
Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.
What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?
The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.
How do I know which glasses fit my face?
It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.
Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?
With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

I’ve been a patient at this clinic for years. Loved Dr. Aubert and Dr. Osterman. They cared about me and were very professional. I was disappointed when I went to the clinic May 8, 2020 for a surgery follow up appointment. The only person wearing a mask was the receptionist. No medical person, including the doctor, was wearing a mask. Very unprofessional. Very unhealthy. After complaining, masks were put on by the rest of the staff. I won’t be going back.

I literally NEVER write reviews. Just got off the phone with my wife and I told her that if we weren’t married I would marry both the ladies that work here. They are amazing. I showed up and they had my paperwork done cause they knew I was on lunch break. When you leave a place of business you want to feel cared about, happy, educated, taken care off, and feel like you got a good deal. You don’t want to feel used. I love this place. I went in for a simple contact order but left with good choices and good information. I know when I go back I will have made my educated honest decision. They gave me options that no one else especially not America’s best or eye mart express would give me. At the other places I would go they treated me like I was crazy and seeing things. Don’t know why I have been going elsewhere for so many years. Ashby is a great doctor that educates you and cares for you. He takes his time and talks to you as if you are good friends, who knows we actually might be friends now, that’s how great he is. I want to Facebook friend his receptionists now also haha. I can go on and on about this place. But I’ll just leave you with this. I think I’m in love. Haha.

Best place I have found in the area. Dr. Ashby is great at what he does (got my rgp contacts right on the first try) and he's friendly and answers all of your questions. Takes the time to listen to you which is hard to find these days. Front staff is awesome and helped me get insurance coverage that I didn't know I had. Highly recommend!

My visit went well and I had a great experience until it came to billing. I called to talk to Julie to discuss my bill and she was extremely rude, even after telling her I was recording the conversation. She talked to me like I was ignorant and even told me if I'm in the medical field then I need to look up the ICD-9 codes! They were billing me for something they should have billed insurance for. She talked over me and wouldn't listen to what I was trying to explain to her. Everytime I tried to speak she would get louder and repeat what she had just said. She even said to me "don't you dare say I billed something wrong!" Clearly she's more defensive rather than trying to get to the bottom of the problem and listening to the patient. After realizing she had billed wrong and being told she needdd customer service training she started yelling something else and I just hung up on her. A client shouldn't be talked to as if they are ignorant and trash just because she is upset that they are calling because they were billed wrong.

This was not my first time at Family Eye Center but it was my first time seeing Dr Osterman. This was a great choice. I called to set up an appointment today and they were able to see me within a few hours. Dr Osterman was very informative and clearly enjoys what he does. I would highly recommend Family Eye Center. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. Dr Osterman will make sure he provides all options and explains each well. You won't be disappointed at this office.
