Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

What does an optometrist do?

Functionality: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services. Include: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services.

Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

I have used Dr. Fincher & Crew for about 13+ yrs. All the staff are phenomenal and extremely helpful in whatever need you have. The best part is there extensive selection of eyeware all the way up to to end design brands. Service is quick & precise. I haven't gone to another eyecare professional in CO since I found them working in the tech center/ Lone Tree area as an accountant back in the day.

I stopped going here when I found out they were charging the Veterans Administration for scleral contacts. I was prescribed and received gas permeable hard lenses. They were lying to me and to the VA. They charged Medicare for a full eye exam when all I wanted was a response to an email about his recommendation that I needed cataract surgery but he made me come into his office. They were lying to me, the VA and Medicare. Scleral lenses cost $1200-2000, including fit and examinations, depending on their complexity. The average cost of RGP contacts is about $100 per lens, so $200 for a pair.

I came home from my appointment yesterday and literally the first words out of my mouth to my boyfriend were "what a delightful visit to the optometrist!" Incredible staff and experience. Both Alex and Dr. Rogers are incredibly friendly and great at what they do. They walked me through everything from my exam to helping pick out frames, and actually explained the results of my exam. I've never personally been to an optometrist where they have covered everything so thoroughly, and it made me feel like I was in great hands. Can't recommend highly enough!

Stuart Confer  |  Rating: 1  |  Warby Parker Park Meadows

First negative Google Review! I've been wearing Warby Parker frames for years, popped in and made an appointment at this location with Dr. Chris Thomas. I had unexpected travels, rebooked on the road, and had no correspondence. Missed the appointment. He wrote me an email saying I missed three appointments. Not true. I wrote back explaining what happened with travel and what not and that they should make sure that their customers are getting proper correspondence or they will continue to lose business. He wrote back and replied, "If you book an appointment you should remember when it is." NOPE. There are plenty of other optometrists that are kind and communicate and understand people's busy schedules. And aren't rude to strangers.

Dr. Monro fit me in on the spot for an eye exam. She was very efficient and provided me with a lot of knowledge. I would highly recommend going to her for your eye care needs. Great gal! Also the girl at the front desk was extremely accommodating, professional, and friendly!
