Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

What does an optometrist do?

Functionality: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services. Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

I became aware of Dr. Eunmi Chae by providing an Emergency Board Up service because one of her stores windows were broken. Then I decided to try her services because I needed a new prescription for contact lenses. The "Doc" was very knowledgeable in optometry and provided great service. She was, IS, very polite, congenial, professional, and respectful as she provides her services diligently and competently. Gladly. I will continue to utilize her office as my optometrist, and those reading this should strongly consider doing likewise. You wont regret it.

Very speedy turnover time here for both repairs AND getting prescription lenses filled. Highly recommend coming in! They even go the extra mile to clean your glasses, I'm so glad I found this place.

I love Dr. Chae and her entire staff! I have been going there for at least 5 years now and they never ever disappoint! They have an excellent selection for faces and styles of all kind, although I am partial to their designer choices (especially the Persols and Chanel.) I'm Korean so I have a rounder face and a button nose, and they are so great at helping me find glasses that fit me. My entire family now goes to Dr. Chae and we all have bought glasses and sunglasses from her. I

Went today as a new patient well al I can say they are very nice on the phone.... but in person they are well uhhh idk I wanted to get my reading glasses lense done and get another pair to drive the doctor said I can use the same old one I had for more than 5 years and they will prescribe another one for driving but she gave me for driving and not for reading and also my mom came she was waiting for me in the waiting room got a phone call she was very quiet and a lady that works there approach her saying if u gonna be talking on the phone you need to get out and talk outside. which is ridiculous overall the staff have very heavy personality and the doctor isn't too friendly she more like hi hi how are you and get out .... that's how I felt in there so going to another doctor who more professional and more caring

Dr. Chae is amazing! I rarely post reviews but Dr. Chae deserves all the recognition. Not only were here staff friendly and attentive, but Dr. Chae herself was also very patient and knowledgeable. I got both an eye exam and contacts fitting exam. She took the time to listen to my concerns and based on her recommendations, you know that she is an expert in the field. Thankful to have found an optometrist that I can trust! I live in LA, but the trek is definitely worth the drive! Will be coming to her in the future!
