Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

What does an optometrist do?

Functionality: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services. Include: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services.

Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

Unbelievable! I went yesterday at 5:30 pm and the girl at the reception says we got our last patient for today and i was like aren't you open till 7pm? She goes yes but we are done for today. What do you mean you are done? I drove 30 mins to get there just so she can send me back and she wont let me do appointment for the next day but they will still accept walk ins. On top of that she said they close early cuz the doctor has kids and dinner arranged. I was so frustrated, if she wants to spend time with the kids she can quit her job and be stay in home mom instead of sending patients back hour and a half before closing! Take your business somewhere else, Costco vision center in Glendale will give you much better experience for the same amount of money!

I have been coming here to get my glasses for over 15 years now. I can't imagine going anywhere else. The prices are great. The time it takes to get the completed glasses is so fast! The ladies who helped me last week were friendly and helpful. The optometrist next door is also very nice and friendly. Highly recommended.

Kim Hem  |  Rating: 5  |  Sunshine Optometry

Came to Sunshine optometry for an eye exam and very pleased I did. Located in a shopping plaza, it's very convenient and lots of close and available parking. Front desk staff was very friendly and helped me right away, I had some short paper work to do, 10 mins in I was already having my pretest done. Dr. Dan and Dr. Sun were very professional and easy to talk to. Found a pair of glasses and sunglasses in their nice wide selection. Very clear with breakdown on costs and got a great deal.

Becky Choi  |  Rating: 5  |  Mikailian Optometry

Today (1-5-22) was my first visit at Sam's Mikailian Optometry and glad I decided to go. Dr Mikailian was very friendly and knew his material and spend enough time to explaining all the difficulties i was having and going through with eye condition. I would recommend to all my friends and family to come and experience Dr Mikailian at Sam's!❤

Christopher Horton  |  Rating: 5  |  20/20 Optometric Eye Care

These people were efficient, pleasant, and easy to deal with. Dr. Khalid came across as knowledgeable, competent, and patient even with questions not directly pertaining to the eye exam. I do not enjoy office visits of any kind, but I cannot think of a single thing to criticize with any part of my experience with this office. I used an existing prescription and so cannot comment on the process of gaining one here, other than to note the office has modern technology which goes beyond the traditional lens tryout routine.
