Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

What does an optometrist do?

Functionality: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services. Include: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services.

Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

I started to come here a couple of years ago and I have been a regular patients since then. I tried the color contacts and I fell in love with it. The price is amazing! I now get why people come here for their eye exams because the price is reasonable. I dont think anywhere else would have this good of a deal! This place is really busy. Thumbs up! Annie taught me how to wear contacts! And from that point, it takes me 3 seconds to put in and take off contacts. Other customers were shocked how fast I could do this. Yay for Annie!

Not responsible AT ALL! I got a pair of glasses last week. I went back there to check if there is a problem. People from Eye On Design said NO. We don’t think our glasses have any problem at all. And I went another optical to check it, they said there is a problem causing me feel dizzy. I went back to Eye On Design, they rejected to be responsible for it. Such a terrible experience.

Stay away at this place at all costs! It is terrible. I went there to pick up my glasses, the lady at the pick up desk was unprofessional. She try to put my glasses in a small plastic bag and told me her store run out of case. She did not even clean it or try on me for any adjustment needed. All the negative rating I read from the customers who had been there was true. I myself experienced it. They treat customers with a different attitude based on insurance and looks, that was how they do business.

Avoid this place at all costs! It is terrible. I don’t know how they stay in business anymore. I have been a customer here for many years for many people in my extended family, but the service is so poor and so rude now, if I could give zero stars, I would. I will never order glasses from here again, nor will I let any of my family or friends, and I implore you readers to disregard all the fake 5-star reviews on Google and elsewhere, and find a different place for your glasses. The store texted me that one of my daughter’s glasses were ready for pickup. So I drove there immediately to pick up the glasses. When I arrived, there were two employees. One was “helping” a customer browse the selection of frames. The other worker was doing busy work and not dealing with customers. I told them I had been texted and was there to pickup. The worker shrugged and said “I’m sorry, right now we’re busy (i.e. with one customer slowly browsing), so sit down and wait.” So I waited with my two daughters to just be given the glasses that were ready, that they texted me to come and pickup, and that I had FULLY PREPAID for. I just needed them to hand the glasses to me. The 1 customer that was being “helped” was slowly and casually browsing frames. I told them I had been texted for pickup, and they saw me wait there with my 2 young daughters. I waited and waited and waited. In an otherwise virtually empty store, except this one customer browsing frames. I got up a couple times and said again I just need to pickup my prepaid glasses and get home with my daughters. They ignored me and shrugged that it was “too busy” (with 1 customer other than me) and only 2 staff on duty. They ended up making me wait ONE HOUR before they finished “helping” this browsing customer and they gave me any help. One full hour for a mother with her two young daughters around dinner time to pick up the prepaid glasses they texted me to come in and pickup. When they decided they were available to help me after 1 hour that I waited in the store, it took all of 30 seconds for the worker to grab my prepaid pickup order and hand it to me. Just an awful experience that shows absolute disrespect for customers and an inability to handle more than 1 customer at a time or to prioritize tasks to minimize customer inconvenience. I told them I was dissatisfied and angry (after being forced to wait an hour) and they shrugged it off. They couldn’t care less about me. I agree with the many other reviewers who have recently given Golden San Gabriel Optometric Vision Center negative reviews. If you care about your time and your happiness, find a different vision center to patronize. There is nothing “golden” about this horrible store.

I am so very pleased with my new glasses that serve for reading, distance and sunglasses. Great frames. Thank you Maggie for your professionalism and personal concern for each customer's concerns.
