Eye exams is a procedure to evaluate the functions of the eye that provide normal vision. Namely, how the size, shape, and color of objects are perceived, as well as their location relative to each other. Eye exams are necessary for the timely detection of abnormalities and successful correction. Eye exams include accurate determination of the patient's visual acuity and refraction, intraocular pressure measurements, microscopic examination of the eye (biomicroscopy), pachymetry (corneal thickness measurement), echobiometry (eye length determination), ultrasound eye examination (B-scan), computer keratotopography and thorough retinal (eye fundus) examination with a wide pupil, tear production level determination and detailed visual field examination of the patient. Various methods are used to test vision, the results of which allow the doctor to identify abnormalities and prescribe a correction.

Had a wonderful experience at Eyes in Disguise! Dr. Blas and the front desk receptionist were both extremely friendly and welcoming. The office is very nice, clean and modern and in a great location on Union Street. The exam was very thorough and I would 100% recommend them to anyone looking for an eye exam! They take VSP and made it very easy to process insurance. I will definitely be back for my annual eye exam!

Dr. Vrouvas' eye exam was fine and he explained everything well, but the eye glasses I got are terrible. The woman who fitted me with new glasses did not seem very sure about the lenses I needed and got them all wrong. They do not respond to messages sent through their website. Money down the drain.

Monique Ferrari  |  Rating: 5  |  Dr. Edward Soss

I've been going to Dr. Soss for close to a decade now and all I can say is great things. He has been the friendliest, most accommodating optometrist that I have ever met. I enjoy going to him instead of other doctors, so much so, that I pay out of my own pocket to do so and I don't even have to. I'm covered with my medical to get free contact len's elsewhere but haven't even considered it because, again, of the good repore and relationship I share with Dr. Soss. I'd miss it way too much. P.S. He even goes as far as to stay late if I can't pick up my lenses on time between his buisness hours, or if he has to leave, he will leave his gate open and leave whatever it is I need in the mailbox with an envelope where I can pay for them when I pick them up by depositing cash back into the envelope and dropping it back into his mailbox. So you see, he even trusts his patients not to rip him off (which they easily could and he'd be out that money). So please give him a try if your in need of an optometrist In the San Francisco area. I promise you won't regret it!
