Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

What does an optometrist do?

Functionality: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services. Include: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services.

Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

I have found Dr. Nguyen to be extremely thorough and communicative. With her guidance, I now am wearing multifocal contact lenses which means I no longer need reading glasses, a great improvement! Additionally, my new glasses are progressives which provide amazing vision and required no adjustment period. Dr. Nguyen is as knowledgeable about the health of the eye as she is about vision and proactively attends to issues before they become problems. I would highly recommend her practice!

I've been going to this place for over 10 years! The office is always very clean and organized. The employees are especially helpful and succinct. I found it always to be easy to get an appointment. And if I was on time the whole exam process was pretty swift. I've gotten glasses, soft contacts, and hard contacts here! I've never had a problem with any of the things I've bought. They have a good selection of sunglasses and glasses and I'm impressed by how thoroughly they explained my insurance!

Kenneth Lewis  |  Rating: 4  |  New Optix Optometry

I ordered a pair of new glasses 60 days ago. I still don’t have them. The first pair the employee ordered the wrong style and promised they would rush the correct pair. They did not. 60 days and $250 dollars and I still have nothing to show for choosing this business. Update 12-27: Dr Tran reached out and refunded my money and as a hood will gesture gave me the pair of glasses I had ordered because he felt so bad about the situation. Thus I’m changing my rating from one star to four because of his efforts in making the situation right.

Chi Hoang  |  Rating: 5  |  KDT Optometry

I was very happy and satisfied with the level of friendliness and professionalism at new view. Dr. Khoa D. Truong is amazing the best! Very knowledgeable and professionally. Explaining everything throughly and answering all my questions. He invests in new technology to help him as the health care provider as well as me (and other)as a patient. I highly definitely recommend this place to anyone needs glasses and contact lens...etc Me and my daughter will be become in to new view for ours eyes care needs from now on for annual check up. Going anywhere would be a mistake.
