Why do eyeglasses cost so much?
Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.
What should you do before buying glasses?
Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.
What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?
The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.
How do I know which glasses fit my face?
It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.
Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?
With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

This is a great outfit and the owner, Frank, is extremely personable and goes out of his way to help his customers. He was able to assist me with sourcing new lenses for a pair of glasses I had purchased at another store some years ago, and later helped me source a replacement bridge when mine broke. I will only use Wink Optics from now on. Prices are fairer than some other local stores and the service is a level above as well. Thanks Frank! You provide a great service to the community.

Royce is an amazing man ... an artist in helping you find the best frames for you, a community member who knows where to send you if he can't completely service your needs, and a reasonable business person ... he'll get you in frames you can afford in a timely manner. I can't recommend him highly enough!

Wink optics is the place to go! I have been looking high and for frames to complement my small face as well as frames that are fun and funky! You only have to meet the owner Frank, sporting bright green round glasses, to know you’re in the right place! He gave me his undivided attention helping me select and try on different frames. When it turned out the prescription was giving me headaches, Frank said, “No problem. Have the doctor write a new prescription, and we will order new lenses.” Both times the glasses came within a week. Although I have insurance with Kaiser, I would never purchase my glasses there. They have a poor selection, the technicians are not helpful, and it takes three weeks to get the glasses. Working with Frank is truly a joy. We have had a lot of laughs together.

Wink Optics is the most helpful snd competent opticians in Marin. They carry Lindberg titanium frames and a large selection of frames. Mr Gomez completely straightened my bent wire frames which were so out of shape the lenses fell out. He was genius with this! He was also able to diagnose the problem with my old lenses and he replaced my nose pads! Must have taken 40 minutes total with me and NO CHARGE. All service like you don’t see anymore. Will be ordering my next specs from Wink Optics!

Wink Optics is the ONLY place to go if you need glasses or sunglasses. They have a great selection—functional, fun, funky…you name it. Frank and his team are wonderful to work with. They have a wide array of sunglasses and were able to hook me up with some very snappy Vuarnet polarized sunglasses as well as a stylish pair of eyeglasses for everyday use. I even got my eyes examined there! This place rocks!
