Eye exams is a procedure to evaluate the functions of the eye that provide normal vision. Namely, how the size, shape, and color of objects are perceived, as well as their location relative to each other. Eye exams are necessary for the timely detection of abnormalities and successful correction. Eye exams include accurate determination of the patient's visual acuity and refraction, intraocular pressure measurements, microscopic examination of the eye (biomicroscopy), pachymetry (corneal thickness measurement), echobiometry (eye length determination), ultrasound eye examination (B-scan), computer keratotopography and thorough retinal (eye fundus) examination with a wide pupil, tear production level determination and detailed visual field examination of the patient. Various methods are used to test vision, the results of which allow the doctor to identify abnormalities and prescribe a correction.

My wife had a very bad experience with Dr. Sue's staff this morning. She was scheduled to have Dr. Sue compare the lenses she has with the prescription that was filled. Staff that greeted her were unprofessional, attempted to tell her in fact what her appointment was, refused to check that she was on my VSP account and treated her very poorly. Dr. Sue is a fine Dr, but I hope understands that intake and patient interaction is an important component of care. No longer a patient but not for Dr. Sue's doing.

Dr. Helen listened to me when I explained that my previous pair of eye glasses required me to arch my head higher that what was natural. The finished product was even better than what I was beginning to expect when observing her above average work--and the price was a pleasantly surprising lower than average! One cannot go wrong having a pair of eyeglasses constructed by Dr. Helen and her competent staff.

Andrea Bravo  |  Rating: 5  |  Dr. Gutierrez, Optometrist

I really enjoyed my visit to Dr. Gutierrez’s office. All the staff was really nice, helpful, and able to answer all my questions. The doctor listened to all of my concerns and was able to help me clarify some misinformation that I had been told during previous eye exams by other facilities. I am extremely happy with my new and improved eyesight. No more headaches for me!
