Why do eyeglasses cost so much?
Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.
What should you do before buying glasses?
Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.
What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?
The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.
How do I know which glasses fit my face?
It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.
Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?
With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

I found Dr Phan when I was in desperate need of an appointment right away for my contacts. He saw me within an hour! On a Saturday! I've been going to him ever since and have taken my young son there as well. He has the latest equipment and is excellent if you need more than your basic eye exam, like I do. His prices are competitive. He and his staff are super friendly. They make you feel like family. 5 stars!

Beware-bait & switch operation!i would give a negative star if I could. I bought a groupon for $23.00 for eye exam and $45 credit towards contact lens fitting. I didn't need the contact lens fitting but the I was going to use the eye exam. When I called to make the appointment they would not honor the eye exam if I didn't get the contact lens fitting. No where on the groupon description did it say that I would be required to have the contact lens fitting. They told me to cancel my groupon, that they would not honor it. Now I have to wait 10 days for a refund. This is how they treat new customers. Total scam!

Dr. Phan is exceptional! I’ve been wearing glasses/contacts for decades and I've never had the pleasure of dealing with an optometrist like dr. Phan. It's obvious that he wants to help people, he's great at what he does and it fulfills him. He made us feel like our needs mattered and he would be our partner in finding a solution. I've never written a review before and this probably sounds corny but when someone makes such a positive impression on you, you can't help but tell everyone about it, so here goes. My son and I saw dr. Phan for the first time this past weekend. My friend and her whole family have been going to him for years and she always said he’s great. I never thought much about it but my son and I needed our annual exams and the price at our current eye doctor had gone up by quite a bit so I thought we’d try dr. Phan. As soon as we finished the usual forms, they called us. I couldn’t believe that dr. Phan himself did the preliminary exam! I’ve never had the eye doctor actually do that before and I was impressed at the start. My 14 year old son really wanted to try contacts but he was worried because he can't stand the thought of putting something in his eye. Dr. Phan didn’t seem worried and he told my son to just relax and not squint so he can get the most accurate readings on the eye exam. I remember thinking that i’ve never had an eye doctor remind me not squint and i’m sure i’ve squinted several times while trying to read the small letters on those charts. Needless to say, I was shocked when dr. Phan somehow got the first lens on my son on the first try, but my son kept blinking on the next eye. I was worried that they would just give us the sample and tell us to practice at home but dr. Phan stayed calm, telling my son that he’s doing great and it’s normal to blink. Dr. Phan was so patient and he didn’t rush my son, and sure enough, he got the second lens in too. My son was so excited and said he could see so clearly without his glasses! Then kim at the front office started teaching him how to handle contacts while dr. Phan did my eye exam. By the time I finished, kim had already shown him how to get one lens out but he was having a hard time putting it back on. Kim was very patient teaching him every little thing. She never rushed him or hovered over him or made us feel like we were taking too long even though my son tried getting that one contact in for over an hour! I even ran a couple of errands and came back and he was still at it :( kim kept checking on him and dr. Phan also came by to ask if he had any questions and went over everything again. As we were finishing up, I asked dr. Phan if he ever had to turn someone down who wanted to wear contacts. He was excited to say that he has always been able to find something to help every patient. He even has a machine that can fit people with custom contact lenses if they need it. He had a patient whose vision was so bad that his wife had to walk him around the house and the man was severely depressed. His other optometrist said there was nothing they could do but somehow he found dr. Phan who was able to correct his vision so well that he could read again! What would that man's life be if he hadn't found dr. Phan?? The patient was so thankful that he wrote dr. Phan a letter thanking him for allowing him to live a normal life again. I could tell dr. Phan likes finding solutions to problems and he keeps trying until something works. I am so glad we finally came here. It’s not common to see people who are great at what they do and who are willing to do more than just the bare minimum these days. I know I probably sound like an infomercial but if someone reads this and dr. Phan ends up helping them, it will be worth it. I’m so thankful my friend told me about him. He’s our new optometrist for sure! My son and I were telling my husband how great he was when we came home so my husband will be going to him too. And if you go to him, he’ll probably be your new optometrist too :)

Fast, friendly, variety of choices in eyewear. Quality lenses and frames. Above all family man that is honest and trustworthy. He has been in business for 35 plus years. I personally have vision insurance that he doesnt except but for the quality, professionalism, and price I still go to him and pay out of pocket. He does the work in the store. If you like friendly trustworthy, great prices, and fast service this is the place for you. I would rate this store above 5 stars if I could.

He had better spend some money on buying modern equipments. All the ones he has right now are rudimentary! I was totally UNSATISFIED with prescription he gave me nor with old frames he is selling! He wanted to put medication to dilate my eyes which is not always required with OPTOMAP Retinal exam, new tech! So I refused and preferred to go somewhere else. Everything here is just old and outdated! I recommend you find another place unless he has equipped his office with new, advanced technologies! FYI, if you have an insurance and he tells you the exam is for FREE, it doesn't mean you can get another test with another optometrist for free! It simply means that your insurance gives you one free exam per a year; it is NOT something complimentary from him! I am just sharing my personal experiences! You might find it perfect for you! Update for the owner response: I know where I went! I have attach a screen shot of the claim just to prove I didn't fake a story! Another update: I am real, and I uploaded the claim from my insurance! But I don't know why it is NOT accepted and shown here for public! I will upload it again! As for you equipments and frames, it is my personal experience and opinion! Don't be mad! I understand that you are happy with what you have, but, as a patient, I wasn't! FYI, I saw another optometrist and my new prescriptions are very close to my old ones (with NO dilation needed)! You, however, were about to change them radically and give me much stronger ones!
