Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

What does an optometrist do?

Functionality: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services. Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

Thank you guys for the glasses. I was long overdue to update my prescription and I love my glasses. They feel durable and they fit me perfectly. The first visit I was there about 90 minutes and everyone there was really professional. It took less than two weeks to fill the prescription which was typical and gone are those bifocals with that annoying line in the middle. The multifocal glasses I have are amazing and don't see myself every going back. Thanks for giving me my sight back its a gift that I'll hold close to my heart. They market themselves as getting glasses for value but when it comes to your health you really need to do it the right way and get quality which they are more than happy to provide. Getting what you pay for applies here as with any optometry place. The place was busy both times I was there so a lot of people know they do good work here.

My contact and eyeglass prescription was way to strong I thought I was going blind so I went to Kaiser my eyes had not changed much from what I had previous to going to Americas best and when I complained they said it was my fault! But reality how am I supposed to know if neither are good and I told the dr. When She asked which is better 1 or 2 I said about the same I had bought 2 boxes of lenses and literally could not see my phone or read any mail she told me to correct with readers! I don’t have that problem anymore! Scary feeling to feel like your are rapidly loosing your sight my prescription hadn’t changed for years prior to this!

My overall experience has left me telling people I know and stating in this review, spend your money elsewhere! The doctor I saw was very nice and the first time in was pleasant. It is really a shame that they have such poor customer service on the sales floor. The problem came when the glasses needed to be redone the first time. Again, the woman who assisted me was pleasant, saw the blemish i was talking about within the lense itself and took my glasses to be repaired with no attitude. I would like to mention that there was also no apology nor did she offer to expedite the two week wait that would now occur to redo the glasses. This was the same wait I had just completed to receive the glasses. With this pandemic I am sure there is a backlog on everything so no real issue with a wait for the repair but it would have been nice if they could have done anything due to this being a quality issue in the lab. Two weeks later or so they called and I went to pick up the glasses. There was still a glare in the lenses. I was not sure why, I can only speculate a poor quality anti glare coating. I should mention that I paid for all the bells and whistles as far as coatings. I wanted to get the best they had to offer. I decided to wait a few days to see if my eyes adjusted and make sure I was not being too "extra" which admittedly I can be when it comes to my glasses. But when cleaning them I noticed that there was a gap on one of the lenses between the frame and the lense, which honestly made me mad as now knew I would have to take my glasses back in and wait again for a repair. I was not able to get there do to my work schedule and sent my partner in my place. I had called them before he went down and explained the situation and they advised to simply bring them in. This time the woman who is apparently the manager was very unpleasant and seemed as though she hated her job and customers and was seemingly disgusted that we dare point out a problem with the glasses. She tightened the framed then refused to do anything further as she said they were fine and saw nothing wrong with the glare or the glasses. Americas Best Glasses (hardly the best) your service is terrible and to the manager who helped my partner, shame on you!

Firstly I called everyone nearby I had estimates up to 200 for an eye exam. This place did it for 50.00 and if you buy two pairs of any glasses eye exam is free. Everyone gave me 5 star service. This place needs to be rated higher and so many workers here. Everoyne just go here!
