Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?
Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.
What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?
What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

Why do eyeglasses cost so much?
Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.
What should you do before buying glasses?
Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.
What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?
The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.
How do I know which glasses fit my face?
It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.
Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?
With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

Ashley & Her Team ROCK! Was helped in record time & on a busy Friday nonetheless. Kept spotting designer frames at a fraction of the cost of anywhere else I have shopped for my astigmatism... Walked out with three frames, two ordered with my prescription (80$ single vision lenses...whaaaaat?). Highly recommend. Thank you!

I've been really struggling with my new glasses from Eyes of the Marina, the prescription was just not right, causing eye strain and headaches. I went back after a couple of months to discuss with them and they were really good initially, did another check of my eyes (although unfortunately with the same eye doctor as before, Dr. Tang), and then updated one or both of the lenses. I paid over $400 all up for the glasses. I thought the issue would have been fixed after the 2nd appointment, but still was getting eye strain and headaches. They had said I was very sensitive to lens changes, so I thought it was maybe me and I just needed to persevere. I kept going for a few months, but then eventually tried on my old glasses and the relief was immediate. After another month or two of wearing the old glasses, I thought this is ridiculous, I need to persevere with the new glasses, so went back and had them on for another month but still no joy. I contacted them again to discuss my issues, and they said as it has been more than 6 months, there's nothing else they can do other than start from scratch again! They never told me about this 6 month limitation. If they had made this clear to me I would have gone back much sooner, but I also felt like I was being silly going back for a third time so waited until I was desperate - more fool me! I am no longer willing to go back to this same eye doctor and pay even more money just to get the right prescription when it should have been right the first time or two, and they have now lost my trust completely. I am really disappointed with this lack of flexibility or willingness to fix the problem that their eye doctor has caused, and now have to start all over again with a new optometrist. Very upsetting lack of customer service!

I’ve had horrible eyesight for many years, went to many different optometrists, and no one could make my eyesight completely clear until I went to Dr. Farah Gozini. She is by far the smartest doctors I’ve ever met and I would trust her over any other optometrist. Her team is also very welcoming and smart. Eyes of the marina is the best!

I had a really thorough and informative eye exam, and so much care was taken in choosing my lenses with Dr. Tang, and then my frames with Chris. When I first went in, Chris also checked on my insurance very patiently - I hadn't called my ins to get all the vision coverage info before going in, (like I meant to!) and he made it a breeze. The ladies at the desk were also lovely, and the selection of frames is great. Especially some stunning ultra-luxury frames, which I'm currently saving up for!

It was my first eye exam and contact lens fitting here at Eyes of The Marina with Dr. Isabel Duong. The staff is very welcoming, they have a great selection of independent designers. I advocate for small shops/small businesses and this is definitely an office I will be returning to for my eyeglass needs. Dr. Duong had me try something new out for my contact lenses and I am in love! Overall my experience was phenomenal and I highly recommend this gem in Marina Del Rey
