Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

What does an optometrist do?

Functionality: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services. Include: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services.

Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

This is my 2nd time going to America's Best Eyeglasses and Contact Lenses. The first location was in Cerritos CA. Not a good experience. So I have moved from Cerritos to Inglewood (Hyde Park). I went there because I needed new glasses. I have broken my correct pair. So I went there, no forgetting about my experience in the Cerritos location. It went okay. So I will once again try to trust America's Best Eyeglasses and Contact Lenses..

Ryan & Laquita are the best. They are both very professional, patient and know their job. Angie is awesome as well. If you wanted to be treated as if you are the ONLY patient, this is the place to go. They don’t rush you, they are amazing! Dr. Knight these individuals deserve a day off with pay and lunch on the office. Thanks for such an awesome experience.

I’ve been a customer for this location over 4 years and I’ve never had a bad experience! I love them specially for the reason that they have always been stocked with the most prescribed contact lenses. I can buy contacts same day which is very convenient especially in case of an emergency. Last time I bought a pair of glasses it lasted me a long time, but it was also pricier. You get what you pay. I think 2 pairs for $80 is convenient until you invest more money for quality frames. As far as customer service, it has always felt above and beyond and that’s considering the amount of people who have came and left.

I recently booked myself an appointment @ the Inglewood location because I am officially OLD & no longer see 20/20. I walked into America's Best feeling pretty certain that the advertised deals were going to be complete fiction. I am happy to report that I was wrong! They do have price tiers for the different brands, & optional add-ons that would obviously increase the end price but if you need basic glasses this is the place. Dr. Ramy Saba is professional & knowledgeable yet still warm & kind. He answered all my questions & offered thoughtful suggestions. The support staff is friendly, patient & helpful and they have a nicely varied selection of frames to choose from.

I highly recommend this place! The receptionist Aurora was very welcoming. but I like was I was able to bring in my own prescription and pair of frames and she gave an unbelievable discount. Especially since other people were trying to charge me so much I'm a lifetime customer. And what I liked most was it seemed like a family environment like you know I felt like family. And they got the hottest frames for Versace Gucci Armani Ray-Ban and everything else you could want thanks complete Eye Care and thanks for worrying 5 thumbs up. Also thank you Jose you was on lunch break when I got here but thank you.
