Eye exams is a procedure to evaluate the functions of the eye that provide normal vision. Namely, how the size, shape, and color of objects are perceived, as well as their location relative to each other. Eye exams are necessary for the timely detection of abnormalities and successful correction. Eye exams include accurate determination of the patient's visual acuity and refraction, intraocular pressure measurements, microscopic examination of the eye (biomicroscopy), pachymetry (corneal thickness measurement), echobiometry (eye length determination), ultrasound eye examination (B-scan), computer keratotopography and thorough retinal (eye fundus) examination with a wide pupil, tear production level determination and detailed visual field examination of the patient. Various methods are used to test vision, the results of which allow the doctor to identify abnormalities and prescribe a correction.

I've been going to Jcpenney Optical for a little over 4 years. I have absolutely no complaints. Yes, the Dr is only there on Friday but he is a very good Dr and does a very thorough exam & makes sure you are comfortable with everything so it is worth waiting a few days to see him. Scheduling an appointment is best & they don't set it out for weeks so its not a long wait. I've had one experience when I thought my prescription was a bit off and I was scheduled again right away and the Dr did another very thorough exam & was apologetic that I had to come back. It was nobodies fault or lack of care, it just must of been my eyes on the original day. Anyway everything was taken care of immediately with professionalism & kindness. Stephanie who is the office manager is amazing and always goes above & beyond. Her customer service & knowledge is on point. I recommend all my family & friends to Jcpenney Optical at fashion fair mall. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed.

I had a great experience. I had some concerns about peripheral vision, Optometrist Chen tested, and addressed my concerns. My adult son just happened to have an appointment earlier the same day, he also said he really liked optometrist Chen. After my appointment I told my husband I wish optometrist Chen could by my M.D, Dentist, oncologist, physical therapist etc

Dr. Bowlin and her staff are wonderful. Dr. Bowlin is attentive, personable, and incredibly thorough. I have been to larger popular eye care centers locally and felt like I was just another number and my exam felt rushed. Dr. Bowlin took time with me and made me feel like I wasn't just another number. Christy, the receptionist, is so friendly and makes picking and ordering eyeglasses so easy.
