Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

What does an optometrist do?

Functionality: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services. Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

I went to the optical department on 4/10/2017 around 130 pm, and had such a great experience with the lady eye doctor on staff. She smiled, made eye contact and aggressive sought to find a resolution to my broken glasses. She was very accommodating and seemed like she genuinely enjoyed her job. I forgot to get her name, but just wanted to let Walmart know, they made a good choice when they hired her.

I just had my appointment this morning after one year of my first visit. I was paired with Angela once again for my glasses fitting. The experience was just as amazing as my first one. She helped me find a pair that suited the shape of my face, as well as provided me with kind feedback on all of my choices. I ended up finding a pair that I loved and I’m excited to come back next year :)

I’m not happy with the overall service for my prescribed sunglasses. The staff I had provided me with the very limited information in price and lens options. They don’t have printed price charts. The staff wrote the prices on the blank paper: 300 hundred for the package option and 100 additional 100 for something, which made me had an impression that the price seemed bit arbitrary. Secondly I added polarized lens option (100) as I was advised it gives much clearer vision, which turned out a bad choice. It took 3 weeks to pick them up and I realized my sunglasses had several issues. First I couldn’t read or look at the iPhone and such a device. It looked like I looked at rainbow screen. When I complained of the issue, I was told it was because of polarized lens with which you can’t look in the clear color. Wow. If I knew it, I, nobody would not order it paying 100 for it. Nowadays Most use it for map or for reading news whatever. They should have advised cons with pros as professionals. The other issue was I noticed the left lens was not well positioned in the frame, which made very uncomfortable when wearing. When I tried to discuss the issue, the staff responded immediately my left eyesight has a worse than right. So it was because of the thicker lens. But I insisted it’s wrong as Right one has a worse one. After checking my prescription, they decided to fix all the issues. 3 more weeks later I could pick fixed ones up, without hearing any apology.

Definitely recommend this place! I have been coming here for years, since they first opened, and they have been consistent with how they practice. The doctors are very caring and make you feel welcome. Also, it doesn't hurt that they have the best selection of glasses! The office is nice, clean and spacious. Looking forward to my next eye exam and next pair of glasses!

Armando was beyond excellent! It was our family’s first time going to Stanton and he was great. Very personable and friendly with good service and the entire establishment was well organized and neatly kept.
