Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Why do eyeglasses cost so much?
Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.
What should you do before buying glasses?
Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.
What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?
The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.
How do I know which glasses fit my face?
It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.
Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?
With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

I needed service to an older pair of glasses and one major company gave me a quote of $250 and 2 weeks delivery time. On my way home I saw the office for Foresight Optometry and decided to try them. I paid $100 and they completed the job on the spot! The people there are professional and very helpful.

Recently moved to this area and found Dr. Hochstatter. I have some unusual eye care needs and the initial visit was very complete. Staff and doctor are very friendly. You don't feel like you are just another number being pushed thru an assembly line like other places I have tried. Jeanette took the time to explain the tests and the results she was seeing. I would recommend this eye care professional.

I guess it’s typical with any store with any product that the mens dept is most always of a limited variety, overall i like this store and its staff very much. Its my 3rd time coming here since i started wearing glasses and ill keep coming back.

Dr. Park and the staff were great! Everyone was friendly and Dr. Park took the time to go over everything with me in detail and explain my new prescription. I felt very taken care of and will definitely be returning!

This review is long overdue. My family of 5 have been coming to Dr. Wang for about 6 years now. I'm quite shocked at the poor reviews here. We have had nothing but positive experiences each and every time. My Mother-in-law even comes here and pays out of pocket because she has Kaiser, but enjoys Dr. Wang. The staff is great, they remember everyone in the family and ask about things that we forgot we even told them. We have a combo of glasses and contacts, they all have been the correct prescription/fit. The office is always busy, yet you are seen within minutes of your appointment time. Glasses and contacts are ready for pickup in about a week. I've needed them even sooner for my son so they put a rush on his order. There's a pretty decent selection of frames. And if you're getting contacts, you wear the first pair out same day, no extra cost. We've never been talked into more expensive frames, which I like because I hate feeling like I'm being pushed into spending more. They are great at explaining lenses and costs. I'm very happy here. Thanks Dr. Wang and staff!
