Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

What does an optometrist do?

Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

I came here because it’s so close to my house and I want to try on the sunglasses in person. In the end, it becomes my go to place to get sunglasses! The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, they pick the best glasses that suits me right away! Also, they are not pushy like other stores. If the glasses don’t suit you, they will be very honest and tell you too. I always enjoy my time shopping here!

I would give them a 0 if I could. IHad prescriptive Sunglasses filled along with my prescription eye wear. In August it’ll be 2 years, but last week one of my sunglass lens came out and I Along with my friends and family were unable to reattach lens. I visited the optical at Costco where my glasses were purchased and they could not reattached it as well. He said it was the best he can do, able to have all sides of lens inserted but the top he was unable to reattached. He also didn’t give me an option. I had non-prescription sunglasses that lasted much longer! As with prescription, they were also more costly! Please think twice before coming to Costco Optical for your Eyecare. I went to the one in Industry (btw). I’ve been a Costco member for almost 30 yrs and has never been disappointed with their product, and this is my first unsatisfying experience with them. Disappointed, Annie C.

The service here is great. To deal with my progressive lens problem, Mr. Robert was very patient and carefully considered my concerns and issues. He tried to make my glasses several times to fit my use better and better. Even after months, he still remembered and tried his best to make the lens perfect for me with recent available technology. I really appreciated this. Although I have several glasses from the different vendor and store, this one looks the best in my daily working with computers to fit my needs. I should say that Mr. Robert is quite professional, user-friendly, and dedicated in the business. I highly recommend Mr. Robert and his staff, if you guys have any question regarding your glasses.

If you want a place that is welcoming and friendly, then you have to come here! Diana was the one that helped me to pick out my Dior sunglasses. She cleaned the sunglasses before giving it to me. This is something I really appreciate. She was very patient and gave me a lot of tips on how to take care of my sunglasses.
