Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

What does an optometrist do?

Functionality: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services. Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

My experience with this office has been far from exceptional. The staff is extremely unprofessional and rude. They are not empathic of those who patronize them. I was scheduled for an appointment at 10:20 am. I was not able to leave work until being cleared at 10:30 am. At 10:36 am, I called to inform the receptionist that I was two minutes from the office. I was told that patients are only to receive a 10 minute grace period. I asked to speak with the office manager because I left work to attend the appointment. The office manager was hesitant about giving me my doctor's excuse, and when I requested my release of records she intentionally slid them out of the office window and expected me pick them up off the desk as they fell on the floor. I called to speak with Dr. Covington about the way I was treated as his patient. Instead the message was intercepted and I got his voice mail. The service was unacceptable.

Sometimes you really need to see a doctor, and your appointment can't come soon enough. For many of us, there's also the added difficulties that come with having to make arrangements with work and kids. Now imagine you finally make it to your appointment and find out your state insurance, the insurance you've always had on file, is no longer accepted, meaning you and your family will now need to find a new doctor and make a new appointment. Instead of sending several texts to confirm I will be at my appointment, wouldn't it have been nice if my wife and I had instead been notified of such a change? Unbelievable. This is the kind of service you can expect with hall eyecare associates, no matter how long you've been with them. Would not recommend.

The staff are exceptional with customer service from the receptionist calls, to intake of patients, to the eye exam, and to the final glasses/frame and or contact selection! The staff makes you feel like you matter. The staff and doctors at Hall Eye Care carefully listen to concerns about your vision, they recommend tests that help diagnose a serious condition if found. I credit the doctor’s depth of caring and personal doctor-patient relationship. Very professional team. Highly recommend.

I am a local resident of pine bluff and have been a client for this eye center for years. This office has a nasty staff member that is a office manager and does not handle issues well. I returned my brand new expensive eye glasses to have a Rx correction done and the glasses are misplaced or stolen! The staff was walking around like chickens with their heads cut off and unable to give me my glasses. This office manager demeanor was rude and huffy because she has no explanation where my glasses are. The office manager did not have a temporary solution and denies holding any accountability! I would advise anyone, before walking into this eye center you may not get your eye glasses returned if any correction is needed and the office manager hanging up on you!
