Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

What does an optometrist do?

Functionality: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services. Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

We had to get kid glasses. I called and the gentleman said they had some and that he would be happy for us to come in and check them out. We got there and he saw us right away. He made it so easy to pick out and purchase the glasses. Glasses were done within a few hours. We have bought several pairs of glasses here and we are always pleased! I highly recommend using Eye Mart!

Mark Gray  |  Rating: 5  |  Hilltop Eyecare PLLC & Optical: Optometrists Doctors Jacob & Megan Moll

I love Hilltop Eyecare. I have been using them for 12 years. Ever since my first pair of glasses. Dr. Jacob Moll always make me feel like he remembers who I am. He does a wonderful job working out my prescription and has easily alleviated my concerns when I had any. The optical center girls might as well be family. We know each others names and chat away the entire time. I often stay past my purchase just because I'm too busy gabbing. Absolutely wonderful team. I will always recommend them if asked.

My son has a rare optic nerve condition. Dr. Jones has been with us every step of the way. He treats us like gold during appointments. You will not find a more competent, caring and skilled optometrist in the region. His abilities with the phoropter instrument for eyeglasses is amazing. Look no further than Dr. Jones for your eye care needs.

My mother was seen here today and she was impressed with all of the staff she encountered, as well as the care they showed her. She is a tough cookie and she is recommending them to her friends. Well done Elite Eye Care.

Not for me. Thorough assessment. Appreciate the detailed explanations if symptoms and what to expect. Do not like the experience of them attempting to ring the money out of you. I was not asked if i wanted certain, pricey mods for my lenses. My bill was over $400 at the end. Once i read everything i was able to reduce my bill to $120 for copayments. I feel it is rude to assume i want the most expensive possible services. Also they tried to offer 25% off on lenses and were not applying part of my insurance for frames/contacts. Idk what the reasoning is for that.
