Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

What does an optometrist do?

Functionality: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services. Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

I've been a long time patient of Total Eyecare since I was 13. Upon my return to Phoenix, I considered nowhere else for my vision care! The office is nicely updated and staff is laid back and a pleasure to work with, as is Dr. Holle. They make scheduling appointments and ordering lenses a breeze. I highly recommend this facility!

Great customer service. I was greeted as soon as I walked in. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great selection of frames. I’m very sensitive to prescription change and my glasses turned out great. Patrick was very helpful when it came to adjusting my lenses. Happy customer!

I had made an appointment for my family online. It was for 5 of us for the same day. We got there around 2:30 for our appointments that started at 2:45. Everyone got their eye exams, picked out their glasses, walked out with our new glasses by 6pm SAME day! We were helped by Melinda and Kristi with sales and they checked us and we’re super knowledgeable and fast. The lab tech, Kye, was incredible. They had all our lenses in stock and was able to get them made as we were still checking out. Amazing service. The tech helping with eye exams, also a rock star for managing my kids all at once. The Dr put my mind at ease regarding some issues I was told years ago about my daughters eyes. Overall the best experience here and we come here all the time. This place will always be our place for our eye care and eye glasses. Keep doing what you guys are doing. You are amazing!

Geoffrey Hoffman  |  Rating: 5  |  Tempe Eyecare Associates

I’ve been going to Tempe Eyecare Associates for two decades. Dr. Chrisagis is the bar by which optometrists should be measured. It will be a very sad day in Arizona when “Dr. See” retires. I sincerely hope he is able to practice his craft until he’s 100. I will continue to see perfectly, thanks to him, until then. Strongest recommendation. Six stars.

I cannot sing enough praises for the eyeglass world in Tempe. From Michael at the front to Dr Parry and all in between, I received nothing but the best care for my son. After a horrible experience earlier this morning with another provider, Michael did everything he could to get my child seen same day. Once we arrived we were met with a smile and seen promptly and just a few hours after we left my son has a few pairs of brand new glasses (the options were endless.) I could go on and on about how happy I am with my decision to call eyeglass world. I would recommend them to anyone.
