It is impossible to give universal advice on choosing the perfect frames and lenses. But there is one golden rule: when choosing frames you should consider not only their appearance but also discuss the following questions with a specialist (optometrist): Where and how, mostly, are you going to use your glasses? What are your habits? Do you plan to wear your glasses while playing sports, for example? Eyeglass lenses have different optical powers, which are expressed in dioptres. The optical power is determined by fitting glasses. Size of the frame - the larger the frame the more aberration (distortion) may be at the edges of the lens.
What frame fits on the lens?
Metal and plastic frames are equally suitable. In particular, active activities such as riding a motorcycle, running or playing ball require curved frames to protect the eyes from wind, insects, debris, etc.
How do you know if eyeglass lenses aren't right?
You can tell if lenses are not suitable by certain signs. It is important to understand that there is an adjustment period for any optics. Symptoms of improperly fitting glasses are as follows: headache; dizziness; a feeling of sand, increased tearfulness of the eyes; high fatigue of the organs of vision.
Why do my eyes hurt when wearing new glasses?
Eye muscles learn to compensate for changing visual demands. Because these muscles and focusing systems suddenly have to work differently, you may develop headaches, dizziness, or just a feeling that something is wrong with your eyes. (This also applies to contact lenses).
Which glass or plastic eyeglass lenses are better?
Glass makes it difficult to make a progressive or aspherical lens. Also, glass lenses do not fit rimless frames. Plastic lenses are twice as light as glass lenses, so glasses with them are more comfortable to wear for a long time, and plastic lenses are much less traumatic than glass lenses. Firstly, plastic itself is more resistant to breakage, and secondly, its splinters are not as sharp and dangerous.
Which lenses for glasses are more expensive?
The thinner and stronger the lenses, the more expensive they are. Lenses made of photochromic, polarizing or sunglasses are more expensive than colorless (clear) lenses. Lenses can be stock or prescription lenses. Stock lenses are cheaper - they are ready-made, in stock, and can be quickly fitted to eyeglasses.

What an experience on 12/13/22 with a 5pm appointment at Targets Scottsdale North Optical, not physically busy but phones were ringing off the hook but Steven who greeted us was most able to multitask in a manner that made us comfortable and not feel rushed in any way, Thank you Steven. Shortly after checking in with Steven we we’re introduced to Dr. Michelle Coffman, after a pleasant personal greeting from the Dr. Coffman we went in for a fully detailed explained examination that was calmly described and performed by the Dr. Coffman which brought me to a higher level of comfort. I suffer from a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) that was caused by a multiple injury motorcycle accident on Memorial Day weekend, 2019, that leaves me uncomfortable outside my daily routine activities and this was one of those….. but Dr. Coffman erased all of those feelings with the bed side manner and experienced Professionalism that she had provided during the entire session allowing the examination to be completed with a Perfect calm experience. Though I cannot speak for all all that are employed within the department, Re: unknown too me, I can say this, if you use Target’s Optical center and have the opportunity to be greeted and examined by Steven & Dr. Coffman, then be rest assured your visit will be Performed Perfectly. Target you are who you hire and your firm has completed that by directly or third party employment of Dr. Coffman and Steven, much thanks to the kindness, compassion and expertise in their respective fields. My husband and I, new to the area, were looking for an eye doctor to take care of our diverse needs (my husband wears contacts, I have glasses for distance.) We wanted to do our annual eye exam and hopefully find a permanent eye doctor. We found this place while driving by, and since it was close to home and the reviews we read were positive, we made an appointment. Misty at the front desk was super helpful and made booking a breeze. She was able to accommodate my husband and I at the same time on a Saturday morning. She also followed up with clear instructions as to what our insurance would cover and what to expect. We both saw Dr. Jasan Uppal, who was thorough and patient. He addressed all of our questions, and I was super impressed with the thoroughness of the exam. There were a few tests I had never done at my previous doctors, and it gave me peace of mind to have all of the information that was shared with me. The office is new, clean, and welcoming. They have a wide variety of glasses to fit any budget or style. We are both super thrilled with the experience and happy to have found a local eye doctor that exceeds our needs and expectations!

Dr. Z and the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. I was a new patient, which usually means a bunch of forms to fill out when you arrive, but the online forms made my first visit smooth and efficient. I didn’t really wait at all. Dr. Z did a great job of explaining options. He asked great questions to figure out exactly what I needed. I’m glad I found the practice! I will definitely recommend Dr. Z and company to others.
