It is impossible to give universal advice on choosing the perfect frames and lenses. But there is one golden rule: when choosing frames you should consider not only their appearance but also discuss the following questions with a specialist (optometrist): Where and how, mostly, are you going to use your glasses? What are your habits? Do you plan to wear your glasses while playing sports, for example? Eyeglass lenses have different optical powers, which are expressed in dioptres. The optical power is determined by fitting glasses. Size of the frame - the larger the frame the more aberration (distortion) may be at the edges of the lens.
What frame fits on the lens?
Metal and plastic frames are equally suitable. In particular, active activities such as riding a motorcycle, running or playing ball require curved frames to protect the eyes from wind, insects, debris, etc.
How do you know if eyeglass lenses aren't right?
You can tell if lenses are not suitable by certain signs. It is important to understand that there is an adjustment period for any optics. Symptoms of improperly fitting glasses are as follows: headache; dizziness; a feeling of sand, increased tearfulness of the eyes; high fatigue of the organs of vision.
Why do my eyes hurt when wearing new glasses?
Eye muscles learn to compensate for changing visual demands. Because these muscles and focusing systems suddenly have to work differently, you may develop headaches, dizziness, or just a feeling that something is wrong with your eyes. (This also applies to contact lenses).
Which glass or plastic eyeglass lenses are better?
Glass makes it difficult to make a progressive or aspherical lens. Also, glass lenses do not fit rimless frames. Plastic lenses are twice as light as glass lenses, so glasses with them are more comfortable to wear for a long time, and plastic lenses are much less traumatic than glass lenses. Firstly, plastic itself is more resistant to breakage, and secondly, its splinters are not as sharp and dangerous.
Which lenses for glasses are more expensive?
The thinner and stronger the lenses, the more expensive they are. Lenses made of photochromic, polarizing or sunglasses are more expensive than colorless (clear) lenses. Lenses can be stock or prescription lenses. Stock lenses are cheaper - they are ready-made, in stock, and can be quickly fitted to eyeglasses.

i have been going to Lenscrafters Chandler for perhaps 20 years. They continue to impress me. I had lost one lens in my sunglasses and they got me a new pair at the same price as a giant wholesale store near there. I was particularly impressed with Brainden who recognized me when i entered. That type of customer service is hard to beat. I will go back as long as I wear glasses

Leonard 041440 was awesome. He quickly fixed my broken frame, processed my warranty information and provided instructions on the next steps to purchase my next new pair. Excellent customer service, fast, friendly and professional. Highly recommend & will always use LensCrafters. I’m a happy customer.

Not a good experience at all. I was getting contacts for the first time. I received my script and used my insurance benefits to order a years supply of contacts. I started using the contacts and realized they were very blurry and I couldn’t see as well as I could with my glasses. So I went in to get retested. During the retest the doctor told me that vision works doesn’t offer contacts that my exact script and that the ones given to me were as “close as they could get to my script”. He told me other brands that they don’t carry offer my script. I can’t believe the lack of integrity of the first doctor. As a doctor it’s his job to insure I receive the correct script vs just making a sale. Now I am stuck with a years supply of contacts that I can’t even use. To make matters worst. When I went to pick up my contacts today, the short haired lady who works the desk in the optometrist area completely ignored me for 5 mins while she just had a conversation with a coworker in the glasses retail section. I know she saw me cause I had to walk by her to get to her desk. I just stood there for 5 mins for her to finish her conversation just for her to take 30 seconds to give me my contacts. Vision works does not care about its customers. I will never go back to a vision works.
