Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Why do eyeglasses cost so much?
Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.
What should you do before buying glasses?
Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.
What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?
The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.
How do I know which glasses fit my face?
It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.
Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?
With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

I've been wearing corrective lenses since 1959. Dr. Teichmiller gives the most thorough exams I've ever had. He uses the very latest technology and offers cutting-edge solutions for eye issues. The entire staff is friendly and efficient. I recommend this office to everyone I can.

Tho it has been 10 years ago, I worked inside this center. I worked for Dr. Flores, and we were sub contracted. Everyone loved him (he is AMAZING) and we had a great team there. I have no idea if Eve or Stig still work there, but I DO know that my mother used them last year. I was appalled at how things have changed. DRASTICALLY! Noone seems to really know what they are talking about, and they REALLY don't like for you to know what YOU are talking about. I didn't go in with that "I know what I'm talking about" attitude, but I sure ended up leaving that way. I don't remember who we dealt with, but moms glasses were completely wrong, and the girl got upset when I tried explaining the AR coating (and how important it is) to My mother! Unsure of who the the doctor is now, so I can't say anything about them...but everyone is EXACTLY right on their comments about Eve! As for the comment about buying 1 contact, no they can't sell 1 contact...but they SHOULD have given you what is called a "trial" lens, as long as your rx is in stock. And just so everyone knows, they can't refuse to give you your rx. Glasses rx is good for 2 years, Contacts rx is good for 1 year. Hope this helps.

Went in for an appointment that I had scheduled 3 weeks ago. They could not find my appointment or anything regarding my past appointments and history from Decatur Optical. The voucher system where I am currently employed does not exist. Safety glasses that I have paid no more than 40.00 for the last 10 years we’re going to cost me 200.00. This place might say Decatur Optical on the sign, this place is NOT Decatur Optical. My wife has been waiting on her glasses for 2 months

My wife and I had appointments together here on the same day. The doctor was nice. But the Assistant Manager named Eve was very rude. She really needs to listen to her customers instead of having her stinking attitude. She really has no respect for customers nor does she have customer service skills. She really should be fired and should respect all customers not just men.
