Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Why do eyeglasses cost so much?
Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.
What should you do before buying glasses?
Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.
What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?
The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.
How do I know which glasses fit my face?
It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.
Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?
With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

Riquca Reynolds | Rating: 5 | Eyemart Express
Eyemart Express gets you in and out in no time! When I gave them my prescription, they checked my insurance, and my glasses was ready an hour later. What place lets you get your glasses within an hour?! Like I only had to pay $26 dollars when my glasses alone cost $129. The staff was super friendly, helpful, and professional.
Beckie Allen | Rating: 5 | David Olive OD
Always caring, friendly and knowledgeable. I have been wearing glasses since i was 8 years old. I have had several eye doctors but Dr. Olive is by far the best! He is personable, and I have learned more about my vison from seeing him than I did before. His staff is friendly and helpful.
Theresa Mince | Rating: 1 | Walmart Vision & Glasses
Waited 20 minutes past my appointment slot, but that's to be expected. When my name was called, Dr. Craig Mcnamara came out of his office without a mask. When I asked if he was willing to put on a mask he replied, "I really am not." I told him that in that case I would not be able to see him. He then tore up my paperwork. He is unprofessional and can cause real harm to his patients in the middle of a global pandemic. With this said, the rest of the vision center staff is separate from him, all of whom were wearing masks. Quasha, the business manager, went out of her way to make sure I felt valued.
Kay Webster | Rating: 5 | Hardwick Vision Center
Dr Hardwick and her staff were very friendly and personable. I found her eye exam exceptionally thorough and advanced beyond my previous appointments at other locations. I plan to seek her assistance for all my eye care needs & issues. I recommend Dr. Hardwick to you all.
Nancy Tilton Hand | Rating: 5 | Andrea Hardwick, OD
Dr. Hardwick went above and beyond for me - staying late on a Friday night to address an urgent concern I had. She caught something that needed specialist attention. She was so helpful, and followed up with me to be sure things were going well. She's thorough, mindful, and listens. My husband and I would still be patients if we weren't in Ohio now!
